Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • I am so impressed - 2005 Infiniti G35

I have driven a lot of cars in my day. Pound for pound, this is the best car ever made. Fast, yet luxurious. All the finer things in a car are here, except the high price.

  • A Fun Car to Drive - 2005 Infiniti G35
    By -

Since the day I bought my Infiniti G35 Coupe, I get noticed every where I go, from old people to young teenagers. Driving this car is like driving on cloud nine. You can go as fast or slow as you want and you feel so secure and comfortable. On long drives, its so comfortable I want to pull over and just fall asleep in it. It is sexy, luxious, sporty, and I dont know anyone who doesnt think it is one of the hottest cars on the market.

  • should have bought a 3 series - 2006 Infiniti G35

any comparison between this uncomfortable, gas guzzler to a "luxury" car is a mistake. its fast, but wow, 18mpg combined and the seat controls biting my right leg and throwing my spine out of alignment make want to sell this thing today. it looks and drives fine, but anyone concerned with comfort and economics should avoid the g35x like the plague. ill be the guy who leaves it running on the dc beltway and walks off the 495 parking lot to the nearest bar. good luck...

  • Sweet Ride - 2006 Infiniti G35

Just had the G35 for a week and I love it. the vehicle is smooth and comfortable and you can feel the power when you step on the gas. I feel like I am driving a sports car rather than a sedan. There is plenty of room and the seat just wrap around you and hold you in place

An exemplary combination of fit, finish, power, convenience, reliability, power, comfort and all other characteristics one would expect of a vehicle of this class and price.

  • Fun and Practical! - 2003 Infiniti M45

This car has its own "niche". I test drove one today and it did have a hint of the muscle cars of the 70s , but pampering is the order of the day. This car had a great combination of perfomance and comfort.

Wow test drove a G35 today and it was the fastest car i have ever driven in my life! the salesman drove it out of the dealership and down the street so i could "Get a feel of how fast it really is" and let me tell you i sat way back in my seat. it was a blast. looking to get one in the summer after i get rid of my volvo s40. the G makes that look like a go cart. i hate bmws and i cant wait to blow by some 330is in the near future.

  • Just drove the Coupe Today - 2003 Infiniti G35

Needless to say my deposit is down as I wait a week or two for my color and options. Roared like a lion. Tony back seat. Im 61" and had to crouch. I remember my Prelude having a little more headroom and the trunk is small for my golf clubs(full spare) but after driving it, nothing will deter me from my purchase. Cant wait to push it.

  • Arizona I35 - 2002 Infiniti I35

My wife and I decided to purchase the I35 based on very detailed car market elimination. The Acura TL-S type has inferior interior build quality especially the leather seats, and the exterior lacks style. The Lexus I-300 is too small and cramped! Good build quality but about $3000.00 more than a loaded I35. The I35 has the best warranty and bang for your dollar!! We got a loaded one with window tint and auto rear sun screen and in dash 6 CD changer. For $30,000.00 out the door.

  • Beautiful Car, Ugly Mileage - 2004 Infiniti G35

I have only had this car for a month, but I already love it. Except for the terrible gas mileage of 19 miles to the gallon. But it is a sweet ride.
