Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • THIS CAR ROCKS - 2003 Infiniti G35

I recently chose to purchase the G35 coupe rather than comparable sedans like the IS300, TL, and 3-series. This car is the best car for the money - for look, drive, performance, luxury, etc. I love this thing!!!

  • Do NOT buy this vehcile - 2013 Infiniti JX

BEWARE...do NOT buy a vehicle from Infiniti. They are crooks! I bought a 2013 JX35. Within the 1st 100 miles we noticed the transmission was having problems. Everyone at Infiniti told us that we need to break in the car for 500 miles and that the car has a CVT transmission. Finally we got tired of the transmission continually jerking around and grinding between 10-35 mph and we brought it in. After 9 days in the shop they finally said they need to replace the torque converter. Done. After we picked up the vehicle, the car was doing the same thing as before, yet worse. Back to the dealer, same day. Finally we are told that they need to replace the transmission. Totally unacceptable. Infiniti

Snappy acceleration, predictable handling, will surprise you. Fun to own. Pick it over new mustang gt.

  • Love this car - 2004 Infiniti G35

I bought a G35 Coupe recently and although Ive not had the opportunity to put a lot of miles on the vehicle, I can say that this car is an absolute blast to drive. It handles beautifully, has plenty of get-up-and- go, and turns heads wherever I go. Great car.

  • 2007 Infiniti G35 Sport - 2007 Infiniti G35

Previous owner of an Audi A4. This car is everything I thought the Audi would be in performance and handling. If driven 75 on the highway it will get over 27 mpg with premium gas. With mid-grade I get 25+ in mixed driving (up/down a 2300 ft elev. canyon every day and 70-135 mph on a road trip to MT). I usually drive at 4000-6000 ft elevation. There are a few things that could be improved though. The throttle really closes when you take your foot off the gas. Good for performance driving, but annoying when you have the cruise on or are going downhill. Clutch is a bit touchy. The inside of the trunk lid is painted, but not clear coated. Looks cheap even though most people wont see it.

  • The ONLY real "4 Door Sports Car!" - 2003 Infiniti G35
    By -

I was shopping for an SUV or so I thought. After reading the reviews where the G35 BEAT all other "sport sedans" in a comparison test, I had to test drive. I was BLOWN AWAY by this cars acceleration and braking. My wife was giggling like a school girl when it was her turn. We were both wowed by the cars dynamics (sports package). Ladies and Gentlemen, I had found my next vehicle!! Itll be tough keeping the wife away from this car.

  • Reliable - you decide - 2000 Infiniti I30
    By -

Car purchased new. At 50000 car began to self destruct, power seat, alternator, SES light, new brakes at 55K, transmission slip, engine ping. All service at dealer. At 60K SES light on again, brake calipers bad. > $4000 in repairs in 2 years. Trade in at dealer on new MSRP $40000 = $5000 before todays 2 grand. Am I still a happy customer? NO! Like the new G35, but would I buy another Infiniti? Doubt it.
