Overview & Reviews
Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.
The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.
As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.
Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.
Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

G35 needs to be more like 330i - 2004 Infiniti G35
By bmw guy - March 18 - 10:00 amWonderful car, but it still lacks that drive by seat-of-your-fanny feel of Beemer. With the proviso that this is a fine automobile, the manual G35 shift could stand to be a little smoother. And while it turns corners like it was on a rail, a little understeer could make it more fun to drive. Also, could we convince car manufactures to get rid of automatic climate control systems, or at least make it easier to control manually.

Best dollar for dollar vehicle on the market - 2003 Infiniti G35
By mbohn2 - March 18 - 3:31 amThere are known flaws with any vehicle on the market. The 1st gen G35 is known for the AC/Radio control going out, which is not all that big of a deal to have to fix if you know what your doing. With that being said, I bought my 2003 G35 sedan in mid 2012 with 154,000 miles on it. Very high milage for a used car, so I expected to have some problems. The first thing I did was change every drop of fluid in the car, spark plugs, brake pads, wiper blades, ect. to ensure everything would be in good working order, and the car hasnt let me down yet. A respectable 260 HP gets you up and moving to your cruising speed. It has an extremely comfortable cabin with plenty of room for all.

Nissans Inconsistency - 2004 Infiniti G35
By ZX Zealot - March 14 - 8:50 pmDrove Nissan Z cars for 25 years. Loved them all. My 1990 was the most reliable, most fun, best car I ever owned. Kept it for 185K miles, 14 years. My Infiniti G35 Coupe is one of the worst, and Ill not keep it much longer. Nissan has dropped many notches on my acceptable car manufacturer list.

By Lonita Collier - March 12 - 2:00 amAfter 3 years, I still love the way the QX4 looks and drive. The vehicle is stylish and classey. The sound system is good and I have not had any major problems out of this vehicle.

2003 G35 - 2003 Infiniti G35
By brian dawg - March 12 - 2:00 amFor a luxury brand I find the fit and finish of this car very poor. Many squeak and rattle points all over the car. Had to replace the brakes at 15,000 miles on my dime. A month later got notice in mail from Infiniti that brakes will be covered under warranty, but I had mine replace outside of the dealer network so I do not get covered. Overall disappointed with the purchase I got vs. what I had expected.

buyer bewares - 2003 Infiniti G35
By G35ownerhouston - March 11 - 10:00 amThe car (4dr/w leather) looks great, handles superb and runs super. The car does not have (or offer) automatic door locks. You must order the premium package if you want the Auto lights function, otherwise you do not get it. If fact the G35 owners manual does not state clearly the auto function as found on the Premium feature package only. It just states how to set the auto lights function. It is very miss leading! Buyer beware the auto light function does not come with the order of just the leather package. The auto light function is not a available option period. $2000 for auto light- to much.

2009 G37xS Top Choice - 2009 Infiniti G37
By AJ - March 10 - 7:36 pmThis is my first all-wheel drive car. In the past I was a rear-drive enthusiast - Ive owned 3 BMWs and most recently a 2003 Infiniti G35S. The ride is top quality and the car is one of the best I have driven. I was initially concerned that the weight of the AWD would hurt the handling and acceleration. The impact is really minimal vs. the S version, but I live in the snow belt. Even on an icy road, its very hard to spin the wheels - great traction! I was also concerned that the sport seats would be a bit tight, but after driving for a few days, I was convinced that they are an excellent choice (unless you are over 210 lbs.). Overall, I am very pleased.
