Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Infinity G35, W O W!!! - 2004 Infiniti G35

Purchased the G35 after reading many reviews stating the G35 was Best In Class over the BMW, Acura, VW and others. Was not ready to buy, test drove the car and was so impressed I called the wife and said I was sold. Helping the purchase was the ease of dealing with the Infinty dealership and sales staff. My salesman, John Lopez was great. I love the car and HIGHLY reccommend it.

  • Best car Ive driven in this price range. - 2016 Infiniti Q50

At first I was skeptical about Infiniti in general. I knew that they had the G-35 series which were popular in the 2 door version. I was not impressed by the 4 door models..too small for my taste. When the Q50 3.7 came out my wife leased one and I started driving it occasionally. She absolutely loves it and I fell in love with the Q50 series as well. When the Q50 turbo came out and I had an opportunity to road test one I actually got it that day! Its perfect 2017 Q50 RS 400 twin turbo all wheel drive! What an amazing car for the price. Its a rocket period! Put it in Sport + and you literally need to hold yourself together because by the time you realize whats going on mostly likely the speedometer is way past 100mph. I have no complaints about the car. It has power, looks sharp, comfortable seating, and it has so many option of driving that its a ball to drive. Mine only has the navigation option and thats it. If you have 50k burning a hole in your pocket give this car a try, you will not regret it!

  • Rattle Box with Bad Brakes! - 2005 Infiniti QX56

This car has been a real disappointment. We love the look of the car and the overall comfort of the interior. BUT, We have had it in for service 4 times now, they charge us almost $600 each time for service, and with 20,000 miles they have had to fix the brakes 3 times, the dealer has even admitted that there is a brake problem with these cars and they do not know how to fix it except to keep replacing them every 5000 miles or so. The interior console that houses the fold up tv screen rattles like crazy, the automatic opening backdoor has had to been fixed twice. After having this car for 1.5 years I have had enough. I dont feel safe with these brakes and a 13 month child. Dont buy it

  • Great! But Could be Better.. - 2003 Infiniti G35

I Bought my 2003 G35 sedan used, october 2008 with 130,000K. Got it for a great price. I love the car its great compared to the Chrysler i used to drive. I will never go Domestic again. This car is i believe an Icon for great performance no doubt about it. However its the little things which bring me down such as the very famous electrical problem with the center console that no longer works for me and will cost over $1000 since parts alone are $900 and the recall doesnt apply to my VIN number. Other electrical such as the clock light, and wiper blade motor. These are problems I just didnt expect from Infiniti. Any car you buy will have its Flaw, electrical seems to be the Gs problem.

very nice interior - easy-to-use controls. good use of wood and leather. very underpowered and less than good mileage. loud sunroof when open. totally trouble-free

  • Good SUV & Mechnical? This it is... - 2002 Infiniti QX4
    By -

After Long search for SUV, comparing all models, 4Runner, MDX(Odyssey), Envoy (TBlazer)...long list, this is the best in term of engine/tran/chasis performance. My major is in this area. Trust me, I can see it and feel it. Other model win customer by size and features. If you are looking for fun to drive and picky on mechanics, get this on. Same as Pathfiner, but with loaded option is much more rich.. I love this one...

  • Great Truck - 2002 Infiniti QX4

The truck is great. I have had zero problems in 15 months. The only drawback is the gas mileage. They should put in a 5 speed automatic like the MDX. Needs a little more headroom in front seat area.

  • Performance Sedan - 2002 Infiniti Q45
    By -

After considerable thought and research, I bought the Q. They were steering me to the G35, but the Q was in a completely distinct category. Safety, power, comfort, service, sound system, reputation and price were the main considerations and in that order. It has the sport suspension and 18" wheel, so you can upgrade the performance. The ride will be harsher, the minimal sway and rocking will be almost eliminated, but hey, is this for the track? I owned a 928S. This gives me thae same satisfaction of ownership even if not the same amount of recognition. Yes, the analog clock should be tilted upward, but nothing is ever perfect.

  • Awesome so far - 2003 Infiniti G35
    By -

Only have 500 miles on it but have been impressed more and more every time I drive it. The sport package is worth the money, but chrome rims are in order. Interior layout is ergonomic with the exception of the seat controls. Bose stereo provides plenty of sound, but Id rather listen to the song of the motor.
