Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

smooth, refined and easy to handle. It is designed to instill confidence on the road. The dealer was a dream to work with. Service with the dealer has been first class, unlike the "we dont care attitude at lexus."

  • Very Tempting - 2003 Infiniti G35

I just test drove this car today, and I am very tempted by it. Prior to this car, I have never considered Infinity, mostly because of cost/benefit, but also due to the historically strange styling of Nissans cars in general. I guess Renault must have been good to them, though - this was one fun car to toss around, even with 4 people in the car.

  • Im a car guy again! - 2008 Infiniti G37

Bought this car 2 days ago and traded in my Lexus ES 350. The Lexus is truly a fantastic car for comfort and fuel economy, but it requires you to lose your man card. My past cars have been Mustang V8s, Saab 9.5, BMW 525 and Acura TL. Ive only driven the G37 about 4 times so far, but I love it and cant wait to drive it again. Its quiet and comfy when you want it to be, but can certainly growl and perform with the push of a pedal. Some say the brakes are touchy, I say precise. Some dont like the "off the line" acceleration, buy a true sports car. Some dont like the trunk space, ITS A COUPE! Head space? Im 6 190, no problem. Im a car guy again!

  • absolute fun - 2005 Infiniti G35

The car is a big improvement over the younger brother the Nissan Maxima because of the going back to the basics and that to me is rear wheel drive the power is put down with ease translating to a much easier to control power band. There is hesitation when pushed hard it only begs for more. For the price i couldnt ask for more there are many other vehicles in the same peoce range but none have the same power and luxury.

  • not a brand slave - 2016 Infiniti Q70

If you are looking for a RWD, very reliable, athletic, 6 cylinder, luxury car w impeccable fit and finish inside and out, and are not a brand slave to the ubiquitous grey/black/silver MB E350, Lexus GS350, or BMW 5, check out the Q70L. And you will pay $5K-$15K less than a similarly equipped MB E350, Lexus GS350, or BMW 5. On another note; I agree w other reviewers, the Bluetooth and apps are a bit dated. Chip

  • Infiniti in Kansas City - 2002 Infiniti I35

This is the second Infiniti I bought because I love the way it drives, the sharp appearance and it is very reliable. Every time I have to take it in for routine service the dealership knows me and treats me like a person, not a number. I love the way they wash your car when you take it in and if your car needs to remain at the dealer for a considerable time, they give you a rental car to drive. I would definately recommend this car to my friends and family.

  • Im still in awe - 2004 Infiniti G35

I have owned my car for almost 18 months now and I am still in love with it. For the first time ever I dont have car envy wishing I had bought something different/better. The car is a dream to drive and even though Im borrowing from a SAAB commercial, when I am in my G35 there is a direct connection between my right foot and a smile.

  • My 5th Infiniti - 2004 Infiniti G35
    By -

I love this car. I have had 5 Infinitis now, including this one. They have been a 1992 Q45, (2) 1998 I30t models (one got totaled) and a 2001 I30t. My 2004 G35 Sport is the best yet. Even though I did not go with the Premium pkg, The car still is very well equipped and has everything that I need. I even added the optional Satellite radio---definately worth it. This car handles like it is on rails and has excellent performance. I have had absolutely no problems with it and have recommended it to many people.

  • In Love with my Wild Thing! - 2004 Infiniti G35

Ordered this lovely vehicle in July; didnt take ownership until late September, but can honestly say its the finest automobile I have ever driven and/or owned! Superb handling, awesome control, amazing acceleration, but mostly, without a doubt the most beautiful vehicle around! And, there is one more facet that no one else discusses: the G-35 Coupe has an acceptable rear seat that my 99 year old father (literally!) can climb in and out of easily!!! Thanks Infiniti! You did it this time!
