Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

Finally someone put their head to use. Infiniti has made a classy sports car that has the looks even to turn Grandmas head. We love our new car!

The whole Infiniti experience has been a good one. I had been thinking about buying a car for some time and was admiring the G35. I loved the advertising and when I finally went to drive one, I was not disappointed. Also, my salesman was terrific and he could not do enough for me. I am a completely satisfied customer and could not even imaging driving another vehicle.

What a ride! Tight on the road and an eye catcher.

I cant tell you enough about my new car. It is luxury and performance rolled up in one. Stylish enough to be seen in a suit and tie, yet it turns all the heads of the cute girls. I can put my twin boys in the back and they can cruise with dad or take my wife out for a dressy night on the town. Fast, fun and yet with a large enough back seat to remain practical. You just gotta drive one to fall in love with it. Dont buy the automatic though. It takes half the fun away even though it comes with triptonic shifting.

  • Fun Car - 2009 Infiniti G37

I was looking for a fun car in addition to my FX35. I test drove Audi TT, BMW 335ix and the 370Z. The G37x gives me best value and comfort and I can always count on the Infiniti quality. I based my final decision on a combination of these factors - performance, comfort/toys, fun to drive, value and reliability.

  • Good car the for the money - 2008 Infiniti G37

Bought a G37 S Journey with sports package nav, premium, 19 in wheels - loaded. Got the auto, disappointed infiniti does not have a 6 spd auto or DSG type transmission. I would say this is the only issue with the car. The car is responsive, steering is a little light at high speeds. Controls are easy to use- voice commands in the car are easy. The interior is good (not as good as an audi). I would recommend black interior which has white stitching. The tan or gray interiors look cheaper. Gas is atrocious but there is cost for the pleasure you get when driving this car. I am happy overall. Consider a 335I coupe and M3. Got the car below invoice.

  • Dont be a fool!!! - 2017 Infiniti QX60

This car has a load of issues. We have put 3500 miles on it and have been to the dealer twice already. The bluetooth cuts in and out. The phone feature fails to place calls for periods of time. The sunroof leaks. The middle row seat vibrates. Driving down roads as smooth as silk the middle row seat will vibrate. Our boys refuse to sit in the seat. It is unusable. So much for a 3rd row vehicle. The dealer says all the QX60s have that "feature". When backing up the display has gone completely dark. No camera, no audio controls. Only way to fix is to restart the car. We purchased this car with the expectation that it would last for many years. I dont see this car making it through spring. We have spent a lot of money for a well below average car and are considering trading it in and cutting our losses. Infiniti case #25643554. I have videos of all the issues listed above and will post them on YouTube. Hopefully this will save others from making the same mistake.

  • Years of Reliability and Fun - 1998 Infiniti I30
    By -

I bought a 98 Infiniti i30 with 80,000 miles on it from a repo lot, after doing zero research and test driving only one other vehicle. Luckily, I didnt regret this spur-of-the-moment decision, because the i30 was bulletproof for my harsh driving tendencies for 7+ years. I drove this car throughout my early 20s, oftentimes far too fast, and did nothing except change the oil and tires. Added bonus was that this car takes all Nissan parts, so the repairs I had (radiator, starter) were cheap and easy fixes. I drove this car into the ground and it was worth every penny.

  • The Best Bang For The Buck - 2001 Infiniti I30
    By -

The I30t is an exceptional vehicle from its standard features, luxed-out interior, handling, performance, elegant but sporty body design, too its price. The I30t beats its rivals with more luxury & comfort amenities, more horsepower and it costs less.
