Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Love My Car - 2005 Infiniti G35

I went from a Sport Utility to my G35 Sedan. I absolutley love it. The quality is wonderful. I have no complaints. If it matters to you gas mileage is poor. My first week driving it I got 13 miles to the gallon. I have since learned to keep my foot from zooming everywhere I go. If you are looking for quality and a nice ride this car is for you.

I traded in my 2003 G35 for the 2008 model. I never repeat same brands or styles but my first G35 (purchased in April 2002) was the best car I have ever owned. Never had mechanical issues. Performance never changed in almost 6 years and the long term overall quality was excellent.

  • No Regrets from a Grown-up Gearhead - 2005 Infiniti G35

First, I must be honest and state that I bought the car only three months ago. Since I have put about 900 miles on it. It rides smooth but lets you feel the torgue at command. It is the perfect hybrid if you love your sports car with a hint of luxury. The inside is clean and sleek and the honestly feel that the outside is timeless and will be an eyeturner for years to come. When I was a teenager I always loved the 300zx for its styling inside and out. When the new 350z came out I was disappointed at the bare bones muscle, and plastic type set up. The G35 Coupe is what the new 350z should be. Hell, they have the same engine.

  • Testosterone Free Car - 2002 Infiniti G20

My wife bought this car when I was on a business trip overseas. Someone totaled her 325 so she needed a car immediately. The car is beautiful is just about everyway except power. Expect to be outdragged by some econo cars. Last night we test drove a Accord V6 w/ leather...a much more powerful car than the G20. We probably will trade-in the underpowered G20 and eat the $1500.

  • Fun car, Great price - 2002 Infiniti I35

I looked at a Lexus, Mercedes, Acura and this by far offered the best value for price, fun, and reliability.

  • Good car but too close to Altima - 2003 Infiniti G35
    By -

Pros: The engine is great and it is a genuine sports sedan. Also, Infiniti reliability is excellent. Cons: It is too close to the Altima in looks. Infiniti simply cannot get the luxury brand image concept right. This car looks like a different trim of the Altima and anyone who says otherwise is simply being fooled by the better looking headlights and grill. And the upcoming G35 coupe looks like a long- wheelbase version of the new 350Z. If you are going to charge a premium for a luxury brand, you should make sure that the brands prestige and exclusivity are protected by a lineup of cars that are different from your economy cars.

  • Love Mine! - 2004 Infiniti G35

My husband bought me a 2004 G35 coupe new for our 20th anniversary. Everyone loves this car. It goes through tires and brakes a lot (Im not a terribly aggressive driver) but the warranty is unbeatable. All 4 drivers at our home love to drive it. We will definitely consider other Infinitis in the future.

  • Best Purchase ever - 2010 Infiniti QX56
    By -

Bought this vehicle after owning a Rav4.Wanted a bigger and safer ride for my 2 boys and I found it on this one. The captains chair plus the DVD make the ride for them so comfortable and smooth for myself. To much tech and luxury for the prize compare to other SUVs out there and with the powerful engine all I need next to buy is a boat and Im set. Owned Toyotas for my whole life but this is definitely the best buy I ever made.Maybe in a year or two I will trade it for the new 2011 out there cause I really love these vehicle for the prize I ended up paying.

  • Best Small Sedan.....Period - 2005 Infiniti G35

Im one of those customers that car dealers love - I buy way too many cars too quickly. Ive had 10 cars in the past 12 years. I do Extensive research before buying a car so I get a good deal and am as pleased as possible with my purchase. But thats why I generally go back for another purchase - theres either something that could be better with my car or theres something better in a newer car. After purchasing/driving the G35, I can say this is without a doubt The Best car Ive ever owned. Interior finishes truly luxury. Exterior styling is sporty, but understated. Driving experience is unmatched: Very powerful, smooth daily driver, and yet will respond to aggressive driving nicely
