Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Get One ASAP - 2003 Infiniti G35

I love this vehicle. Its full of class and style and most of all POWER. Not a day goes buy where I dont feel good about my purchase. You wont remember the drive of any sports car before it.

  • safety first - 2000 Infiniti I30

Bought the car slightly used about 12k miles and it has performed very well. Unfortunately it was totaled this month in a roll over front end crash and I walked away with a few cuts but fully intact. Car appealed to me for dependability. Body style slightly boring sedan. Loved auto seats and stereo system -though in dash 6 disc changer would be preferable.

  • As much time in the shop as at home - 2014 Infiniti QX60
    By -

First high-end vehicle I could afford, but maybe I should have kept my Hyundai Tuscon. It cost half as much as the QX60 and had NO maintenance issues. This is a pretty car,but its a rattle trap. It has been in the shop at least four times and they still cannot get rid of them. The airbag indicator light has been "fixed" 3 times. The roof rail was replaced because the rubber sealing strip kept coming out at highway speed or a washing. Obviously poor construction or engineering. The dealership has certainly tried to make it right, but all the fun and pride of ownership is ruined. Each repair visit took 5-10 days! I should have gone with the Acura MDX as my brother suggested.

  • I love my new G25 Journey - 2012 Infiniti G Sedan

Its been 3.5 months, and I still smile every day when I slide behind the wheel. This is the best car that I have owned (leased)!

  • What I miss in a G35X - 2004 Infiniti G35
    By -

Live in MN and needing a 4wd/AWD sedan, I was limited to only a few choices: BMW, Audi (too pricey in AWD with a larger engine), and too boy- racer-ish Subaru & Mitsubishi. A $500 deposit for my G35x on 3/20 still reqd 3 1/2 mos for delivery. After a week w/ the vehicle I have been impressed with fit, finish & performance. Coming from a Volvo S60 I already miss a few items, and recommend them strongly for later G35x models: 6- spd manual, rear seats that fold (I could not place 2 large suitcase in trunk), more intuitive radio/climate controls, and an in-dash hands free phone. The best color in the G35 brochure, fire engine red, is not offered on the

  • G37S - 2008 Infiniti G37
    By -

Went with Journey with Prem. and Sport Options. Coming from Lexus and looking for more of a sports car and this car fits the bill with power and looks. I do not expect to have any problems with a foreign make like Infiniti similar to Lexus, which was important. I wanted more time on the roads and less in the shop. First thing to do is change out standard air filters with 2 K&N Air Filters!

  • First car - 2008 Infiniti G35

I got this car for my 16th birthday and it is so much fun to drive. it has 130000k miles on it and it drives like its brand new. it is very fast and i constantly want to drive it.

  • G37x, a well rounded sport sedan. - 2009 Infiniti G37
    By -

Comfortable drivers seat, plenty of room in front, great features. Rear seats are a bit tight but the rear headroom is fine. Handles, steers, stops and accelerates extremely well and is very fun to drive. The controls for bluetooth, nav, climate and audio features are intuitive and easy to use. The backup camera is fantastic. Gas mileage is not great, but its a heavy car with 328 hp so thats to be expected. Very solid construction and well executed interior.

  • G37 x sedan premium and nav package - 2009 Infiniti G37
    By -

This car is amazing. I test drove the mercedes benz c300, bmw 3 series, lexus is250 and of course infiniti g37. The g37 was by far my favorite. Its fast and luxurious. With the highest horsepower in its class this car was an easy choice considering all the standard features.

  • New model is cheap - 2012 Infiniti FX
    By -

This is our second FX. Our first was a 2008 and we loved it! Fast, comfortable great handling and sounded great. The lease ran out so we got a 2012. Mistake. Infinity replaced the 5 speed transmission with a cheap 7 speed transmission. It robs power, is confused, shifts up and down at random and delays during quick acceleration (like when you need to pass a car). The manual function is very dangerous. When down shifting, the transmission disengages and the car free-falls for a full second until the transmission re-engages. Also, after 6 months there will be a foul smell from the AC upon start up. The dealer will recommend turning off the AC for a few secs every time you park. Really?
