Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Great bang for the buck - 2004 Infiniti G35
    By -

I have long wanted a sports car but with two children could never justify one. I then went to the auto show in Detroit and saw my first G35 coupe there. It was everything I was looking for. It was practical (seats four and gets 24-26mpg), it was sweet looking (great exterior lines and well appointed interior), it was luxurious (leather seating, power heated seats, power moonroof, 6 disc CD player, Nav System and etc), and for the first time for me it had performance (sport car inspired engine, exhaust, suspension, tires, aero package, brakes, and electric gadgets to keep me straight!), dependable, and what a bang for the buck! This car loves to run!!

  • Quick sedan, excellent value. - 2004 Infiniti G35

I bought an 04 G35 sedan after yrs w/ front drive cars (Volvo 850, Honda Acord, Acura Integra) This car has enough low end torque but is not overly quick off the line, but the rear drive is truly a hoot. Paid only $30,100 for the premium sedan, fully loaded except for AWD and Nav. You could do a lot worse than Infiniti, and this is probably their best value. I also owned a 94 G-20 sedan, and thats like comparing a peashooter to a bazooka. Buy one of these cars, you will like it.

  • Wont trade my Q45t - 1998 Infiniti Q45

This is the second Q45 Ive owned and I love it! The ride is very smooth and comfortable without being too soft. Lots of power when I need it. Cant bear to trade it for a new one at current car prices. Ive put 67,000 miles on this car and nothing has gone wrong. You cant beat the Infiniti service department and the loaner car program. The customer service is excellent!

  • G35 Automatic Sedan - 2003 Infiniti G35

A luxury sedan for drivers unwilling to pay for overpriced German iron. Gives up nothing to the competition, and adds superior Japanese reliability and quality control. Spacious interior, excellent fit and finish with an engine that stands out from the competition.

  • Simpy Awesome! - 2003 Infiniti G35
    By -

Ive searched for six months, looking at the BMW 330xi, BMW 525i, Lexus ES300, Honda Accord (240HP), Toyota Camry and Maxima. I have test driven all of these cars and none match the overall performance of the G35. This car was well designed and is priced very reasonably. I love the rounded curves of the exterior and the interiore (leather) is extremely comfortable. Except for eating some serious fuel, this car is awesome!

This is a great car!! Forget about the 3series and the C-Class. More horsepowerand more luxury for under 30,000 dollars. The Navigation system works really well. The engine is fast and responsive.

  • Most fun Ive had... - 2003 Infiniti G35

This is the most fun car Ive driven in a while. It sticks to the road to me better than my fathers Corvette, and almost keeps up! The seats are comfortable, and the radio works great. I was at first confused by the climate control operations, but you get used to them. People constantly stare at this car!

Bought my G35 about 2 months ago and it hasnt disappointed! This car handles like a sports car and the accelleration is thrilling! Get the optional package which includes sliding glass sunroof, full size spare, garage door opener and xenon headlights. Its well worth the extra 2K.

I purchased this car based on consumers report and a test drive. this car handles great especially cornering. the conviences that surround the driver are just right. I have the navigation system which I,m still learning how to fully use. I find that the controls built into the steering column are great. Inow know them by feel and can keep my eyes on the road while using them. It has taken me a while to get used to not having to keep keep pulling out my keys to enter the vehicle or start it or to get in the trunk. Tomorrow will be a warm day so we are finally going to program the drivers seat and controls for my wife and myself. Visibility, handling, performance, safety are all there. thanks
