Overview & Reviews
Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.
The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.
As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.
Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.
Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

myinfiniti - 2003 Infiniti M45
By ksleps - April 18 - 10:00 amThe car is great...ergonomics are a little off, dashboard tends to make it resemble a mimi-van. Great pick-up and nice ride.

Outstanding Car - 2005 Infiniti G35
By Greg Budd - April 18 - 7:16 amI sold Volvos and BMWs for a few years so I am used to cars that perform and feel safe and solid. The G35 is a fantastic combination of performance, value, fun, comfort and quality without being "in your face." For those who arent hung up on the BMW brand name but want the same kind of vehicle, this is the one. It is admittedly a little less refined than the BMW but to me, thats part of the attraction. Like the BMWs were in the late 90s before they became too quiet and too luxurious. Will likely get a new 2009 when the lease is up. Fabulous car.

Nice vehicle, BUT - 2011 Infiniti QX56
By flyingtiger1 - April 17 - 2:06 pmCar has an unbelievable amount of wind noise coming from roof area at highway speeds. Complained to dealership and they stated that this was average for an Infiniti product. If this is average, I will never by another. Also, vehicle has developed a surge when at a stop. Was told that a recall was coming on the transmission. Brought the car in to be looked at, no code on computer so Infiniti will not replace the transmission. Nice design, but Infiniti needs to work on quality if they want to be in the luxury car market and compete with the BMW and the rest of the big boys.

G stands for GR8 - 2007 Infiniti G35
By sweendogy - April 15 - 11:26 pmWas going to get the 6 speed but living in New England I thought better. Car has everything one would want in a high end auto but the price. Blue Slate on black looks sharp. Navi, and premium package were all I needed but tech package for 1000 more seems like a real deal. Car has 110 miles on it, cant wait to open her up after break-in period. Wish it had standard back up sensors because the car is wide and rear is high. The inside of the car is exact carbon copy of the M35/M45. Reason I bought the car, well, its AWD, has all the toys and can run with anything under 40k.

Good car but has its faults - 2006 Infiniti G35
By Tyler - April 12 - 3:30 pmI have owned my Infiniti G35 6mt coupe for almost 2 years now. I have app 22,000 miles on it and I can say I am ready to get rid of the car, the issues I have are the expensive oil changes and maintenance costs for example the tires. The ride quality is rough and after 15k the rattles start to be heard due to the poor construction of the cabin. The drivers seat position is very tight leather wears quickly. The non Bose audio system I have is absolutely horrible. The speakers and dash appointment look like they are straight out of an Altima for years ago. The car is also the worst car I have ever owned in the snow despite 4 snow tires. The shifting linkage is not crisp.

Compare to others & youll want this G! - 2009 Infiniti G37
By blnewt - April 11 - 10:36 amJust had a 07 G35 and "upgraded" to the 09 G37 & couldnt be happier. The 09 has a bit more acceleration, better hwy MPG and the deals theyre offering its the best bang for the buck in performance sedans right now. The 7 spd Auto in the 09 (compared to the 5 spd in the 07-08) really helps w/ fuel economy. Ive already noticed a 2mpg increase on the hwy and the motor isnt really broken in yet. The 7 spd tends to hunt a bit more for gears in speeds under 30 mph but I know theres a Tech service bulletin to have a trans reflash to smooth the shifts, so thatll be taken care of.

excellent car - 2003 Infiniti G35
By kaye - April 11 - 2:00 amThis is my first "sport" car that i have ever bought. I am very pleased except for if you do not get the navigation system and want it you can not purchase & get installed the one like the manufactors. It would be an after market one which does not look anything as good as the original one

Best of all worlds - 2007 Infiniti G35
By xyaqua - April 9 - 10:40 pmI dropped my wife off at a wedding, after driving her & 2 friends to the church. There was 4-5 inches of snow already. Cars slipping all over. Not enough time to plow the roads yet. The G35x was AWESOME. Even with wider tires, the g35xs awd and the stability control literally disconnected me from the snowy road. I have a 2000 subaru, and the AWD on that is great. But this car would have blown it away. The G35x is an incredibly competent vehicle. Hands down. It will cruise in great luxury, and will blast ahead of traffic when needed. For sure there are cars that will beat every individual aspect of this car, but as a package, it is impressive as all get out!

New Transmission on my 2014 SUV QX60 Hybrid - 2014 Infiniti QX60
By qx602014owner - April 9 - 6:42 pmI cant believe how many problems this car has with only 10 months old. First the headlamp had to be replaced, next the complete headliner also replaced ($4k value) the window motor wasnt working, passenger door not opening from inside (no child lock on) and now needs new transmission [non-permissible content removed]! Its a nightmare, I also drive a 1997 jaguar xj6 that only asks for gas! Ahh! and the MPG illusion never goes above 19mpg average. Complete disappointment. i live in NYC if anyone around has same problems, check New York Lemon Law.I may use it soon!

Car has been a joy to own! - 2006 Infiniti G35
By bg1127 - April 7 - 3:57 amBought it with 50k miles 4.5 years ago and now 126k and still runs like it did when I bought it. Basic maintenance only. This is a great car!Looking at all the negative comments on 3-series maintenance costs Im glad I went infinity! Gas mileage is so-so but most performance cars are. Update: now at 150k and had to replace radiator and steering rack has a small leak. Not bad for a 10 year old car. Id still buy it again in a heartbeat. Great car!
