Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Look great for a cheap price - 2003 Infiniti QX4

Love this car. Bought it for my wife, and I am constantly having to come up with excuses to drive it. Its a head turner and for a young couple, it makes us feel like a million bucks. Plenty of power to pull fourwheelers too. Highly recommend this car for people who just cant buy into the Pathfinder idea, this is a whole new level.

  • Fun to drive - 2005 Infiniti QX56

We now have 6500 miles on this vehicle, although we have to stop more often for gas, I wouldnt trade this vehicle for any that I have purchased in the past. Since 1969 I have purchased at least 28 new vehicles, not including motorcycles and some trucks. Fun to drive, very quiet, excellent radio. Dont like where the clock is, but who cares about the time when you are driving this unit.

  • Great Car - 2001 Infiniti Q45

Buying the Q since 1992 - each version is better than the last - minor suspension problem in this car - bottomed out going over dips in road, even in sport setting. Had to replace 2 splash guards. Springs had to be tightened.

  • top value - 1999 Infiniti I30

I purchased a 1999 i30 with 28000 miles on it after much research. The cost value ratio on this vehicle surpassed the Lexus e300,mb e320 and the saab 95.The reliability factor is extremely high on the i30 and along with the cost value ratio was the other single most important factor in my decision to purchase this model.

First off, get used to stares! Secondly, the car is awesome. It handles well, accelerates well and looks the part too. Those 7-spoke wheels with Brembos just look awesome when the car is moving. What a fun car to drive! I already have 3500 miles on it...I hate to have to get out of it and I love to go anywhere, run errands or cruise around town...what fun!

Performance is great!!! i cant wait fo the after market parts!! 0-60 is faster that the Range Rover and the X5 4.4!!! I would recommend this car for every one!!

  • Very Nice - 2008 Infiniti QX56

I have now been driving this Truck for a 2 weeks. I did a small road trip around 400 mile. This truck has a very smooth ride. I would compare to more of a sedan ride. The technology is very user friendly. The cabin is loaded with comfort. The 3rd row is great for little kids which I have. The Dvd is nice and the back cabin heater/ac. The captain chairs in the 2nd row are very nice along with the push button seats. The drivers control area is well thought out. The only real problem with the Truck is the fuel economy. I am getting 11 mpg in city and 16 mgp highway. One has to be able to afford the gas. If you are driving more than 1000 miles a month I would not buy this truck.

  • Great Car - 1999 Infiniti I30

I have driven this car 8 times from BC to California return and I cant think of one thing that I didnt like about the car. When driving from Seattle south, I thought the gas gauge was broken when it indicated a 1/4 tank remaining after I had driven 400 miles. Obviously I was happy with the fuel economy. The car provides more than adequate power to merge into freeway traffic and quickly pass on single lane highways. The car came with a great warranty but I never got to use it - nothing needed repairs. I even still have the original battery!

  • Already Great - 2003 Infiniti G35

I just bought my car used about 2 weeks ago. It had 44k miles on it and it was originally a lease car from 04/02. I already love this car! When searching for cars, I gave my wife a list of features I was looking for in a used car. I actually went to the car lot to purchase a Lexus GS300 I saw on their website. But on my way to look at it, I stopped to look at the G35 sitting next to it. I really loved the sports sedan look and feel of the car. And once I drove it, I was sold. From the one touch up & down features of each window to the auto to manual stick, this car easily fulfilled my wish list! My only complaint was that the car needed brake service and the dealer took $500 off. Cost $700

  • Beyond Reliable Machine - 2002 Infiniti G20
    By -

Over 75k miles and not a single repair or service procedure except for routine oil and air filter changes and one transmission fluid flush. Reliability is flawless. SR20DE engine has only a meager 145-hp on tap unlike its gutsy G35 offspring, but returns exceptional fuel mileage. At $3.19 a gallon, it takes only $40 to fill up. Acceleration is adequate, 0 to 60 mph around 9.5 seconds. While it wont win you any pink slips against a Mustang GT, it effortlessly revs to its redline for stomp-on-it launches and is eager to play when you want to.
