Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • One of the finest cars existed - 2001 Infiniti I30

I have 01 i30t with all options (no Navigation). This is the car I enjoy to own. No headaches, no problems, solid built quality, nice features. This car is a STEAL for its MSRP of $34.5 DOUBLE PRICES BMW and MB offer may be (!) a little mor features (in case of BMW) and a known name (especially in case of MB). I also have MB 99 E320 and honestly this Infiniti is far more reliable and advanced for half price. I strongly recommend this car, especially when they put 3.5 V6 in 2002 model!

  • NICE Car Bad Back Seat - 2003 Infiniti M45

Purchased the car about 8 months ago. It had 124,000 miles on it. I was on a local government auction site and saw it. I wasnt even looking for a car. I was actually looking for something else not car related. It had issues. Needed paint, starter, driver seat and some tlc. I checked for recalls and found that it had 2 recalls that needed to be done. Infiniti fixed them. While at the Infiniti Shop they saw that the gas gauge wasnt working properly. That was a $1000.00+ to repair. So after getting it painted, a new driver seat, starter and putting some tlc in it at an additional cost of $1000.00+ I finally think I have a great running car. Car has some get up to it.

  • Sik as ride - 2005 Infiniti G35

I think that the new g356 is much better than leading competetior acura t. I like the increase in hp and torque.

  • Why did I go with something new - 2004 Infiniti QX56
    By -

I got suckered into buying what I thought was a new luxury Japansese truck. I liked the exterior and the interior was not that bad to me coming from a Denali. This car shakes, rattles, rolls and I cannot believe it is no better built than my old GMC Denali. I do like the fact its very big and fast, what a nice engine. But Ive been to the dealer 8 times for various quality issues in less than 6 months.

I recieved a G35 as a loaner car last summer and it was a blast to drive. I have driven the acura TL, TSX and recent Bimmers, but none compare to the G35.

  • Radio Off Windows Open - 2004 Infiniti G35

This car has one good feature, acceleration. Suspension has you bouncing off the ceiling, the brakes off the front window, the steering is touchy and you sway back and forth. Fun to drive but rotten to be a passenger.

  • Performance and Value - 2006 Infiniti M45

I am at the end of my 39 month lease and only have great things to say about this car. The acceleration is intoxicating. The sport package makes this car handle like a sports car. Great turning radius and people all the time comment and ask if the rims are aftermarket. These are the nicest factory 19 inch rims out. Pearl white paint glows and the interior is top notch. The seats in the sport package give just the right amount of support and navigation system works well. Overall it looks like I will soon be driving another one there is nothing out there I like more and it has had perfect reliability.

  • Fun Behind the Wheel Again - 2003 Infiniti G35
    By -

The G35 hit the mark with its interior and exterior design. The engine and transmission truly performs and brings the fun back into mundane trips around town. Acceleration is very strong. Steering gives good feedback of road conditions. Performs effortlessly. The only negative I could find was the right edge of the drivers seat wasnt cushioned well enough due to seat controls located there. To be fair though, Im 6 235lbs so I take up more space in the seat than most people.

  • Simply Outstanding - 2003 Infiniti G35

Luxury and performance rolled into one... what a great driving vehicle. Constantly stopped in parking lots and asked about what car it is ... real head turner.
