Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • My silver bullet - 2005 Infiniti G35

From the moment I took delivery of the G35x, Ive been quite a happy camper. There are a slew of conveniences that the car brings, such as keyless entry, memory seat settings, MP3 playback, reclining rear seats, and so much more. I am especially looking forward to its AWD capabilities once the Vermont winter creeps in. There is a great feeling when I drive through busy street intersections, and people stop what theyre doing to take notice of this fine car. You get so much car for your money.

Ive owned this I30 for 4 years and it has been an excellent car.

  • G35 COUPE - 2003 Infiniti G35

great car and fun to drive. Seats are extremely comfortable and the exhaust sounds awesome. IMPROVEMENTS- the low fuel light comes on with about 3 gallons left in the tank and you can not seem to fill the tank because it cuts off the pump early (fuel economy 19-21 MPG could be better) The tires are not very good with the 17 wheels. I would recommend some MICH PILOT SPORTS. Also, the darn passenger seatbelt is constantly banging into the B pillar when no one is in the seat causing an annoying rattle. AND-when shifting the automatic manually from first to second there is an annoying delay/hestitation.

  • All-Around Great Car - 2003 Infiniti G35

It has been a pleasure to own. No problems. Although the front wheels are constantly in need of cleaning due excessive brake dust.

  • "G-Coupe Not Your Fathers Z" - 2004 Infiniti G35

Aside from some first-year rattles, this car has been fabulous. Most fun to drive car Ive ever had. An exceptional value for all this sportiness, luxury, and head-turning appeal. Infiniti service has been great.

its got great handle and its moves according how you want it and as you push on the pedal, it might be a luxury vehicle but it can give some cars out there a run for their money

  • Great car, great value - 2002 Infiniti I35

I drove the 2002 Acura 3.2TL-S and the 2002 Lexus ES300 before settling on the 2002 I35. I bought the silver/graphite with the cold weather package and sunroof/sunshade. Out the door, I paid $31,077 including tax & tags. The ES300 was $5K more for similar equipment and not the performance specs. The TL-S was nice, but the interior was not as spacious nor as nice as the Infiniti. The car is solid, quiet, and comfortable. A bit of road noise sneaks in, but it has large, low profile tires connecting you to the road. Best balance of performance and luxury I could find.

  • Hot Rod Luxury Car - 2011 Infiniti G Sedan

Owned a week and this car is hot! Heads turn when its on the road. 26 MPG out of the box! A/C cools it down quickly--you need that on the Gulf Coast.
