Overview & Reviews
Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.
The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.
As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.
Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.
Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

Drives Great - 2002 Infiniti I35
By firefly99 - September 22 - 10:00 amI have had my Infiniti I-35 since October. I could not have made a better choice. I looked at other cars in the same class and this was by far the best choice. The car drives great and it is the first new car I have had without buyers remorse.

M45 OK in Richmond - 2004 Infiniti M45
By Duane - September 20 - 10:16 pmMoved from an I35 to M45! Car has alot of horses! Could be a little better from the start but awesome excelleration after 55 miles an hour. Happy with the handling but could have leg room in back seat and why cant they have cruise and radio controls light up @ nite? Also they should have doors lock and unlock when moved from park. For the price they should have more standard features!

2005 G35 Coupe (A) - 2005 Infiniti G35
By Chris - September 20 - 9:30 pmI traded my 2002 325i BMW in for a 2005 G35 coupe. The BMW is a great car, but I found it getting boring and kind of stodgy feeling. The G35 offers a sleek, modern style and wiht tons of power. I must say power is very addictive, coupled with great handling makes it fun to drive. It takes turns with much less body roll as compared to the Beemer with the sports package. The G35 is not as light or tossable as the 325i, so it takes a little of the fun away. I find the rear to slide out at times. I dont know if its the design or inadequate Dynamic control system. I like the Bose stereo, no problems and it sounds great. The seat belt is annoying as stated, but one gets used to it.

Big Bang For The Buck - 2005 Infiniti G35
By Jerr Harp - September 20 - 6:53 amIve had the car for three months now and so far so good.Great engine, great trans, handles awesome.I got the 19 inch wheel package which is great in dry weather so so in wet weather park it in the snow. The seats really hug the driver but can be a litte uncomfortable at times.I was suprised at how functional the trunk and back seats are for a coupe. The back seats fit two average size adults fairly comfortably and the trunk holds two suitcases. The one downside is at the pumps but you kind of know that going in.

Unbeatable - 2008 Infiniti G37
By Simeen - September 19 - 10:03 pmI traded in a 2003 G35 coupe and considered a 3series BMW, Audi A5, and IS350 along with the new G37. After test driving all of them and pricing them out, this car couldnt be beat. I loved my G35 coupe, and the G37 is even better. It is a real head turner on the road-- Ive been stopped by strangers in parking lots and at stoplights who tell me how great looking my car is. Drive is much smoother than my G35 coupe-- quieter too. A real pleasure to drive. I agree with other posters-- dont buy this car and complain about gas mileage. This is a performance car and having lower gas mileage is a small price to pay for such a luxury car at an affordable price.

Superb vehicle! - 2004 Infiniti I35
By mgator - September 19 - 10:00 amDrives 50+ miles per day to/from work on busy Miami roads and handles like a champ in all conditions. Bose sound system is excellent, interior feels luxurious, traction control system is awesome for front-wheel drive! Drive the Maxima first and youll know why the I35 is a superior car.

Excellent... I love it! - 2003 Infiniti G35
By G35Driver - September 19 - 10:00 amThis has been an amazing, fun sedan to drive. I highly recommend this car. I have had no reliability issues, Infinitis service has been top-notch and the balance between performance and luxury is perfect. This car is also priced great because I feel as Im getting a BMW 330 with the space of a 5-series for much less than the price of both.
