Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • its big but practical - 2006 Infiniti QX56

Great truck; practical interior with the folding rear bench and middle chairs; drives nice--firm suspension and no-slop steering; engine is STRONG; dash design a little quirky but the quality is much better than the domestic competition.

  • Thank you Infiniti for building this car FOR ME - 2013 Infiniti G Coupe

Having spent the past 14 years with an ultimate driving machine and after seeing the professional reviews, I initially didnt have high expectations for the IPL coupe. I was pleasantly surprised. This is one of the few beautiful coupes that are still made. Its a well build and layed out car. When driven mildly, its a well composed tourer. When driven agressively, it provides a high level of confidence for the causal driver. At its heart is a long time award winning engine matched to a capable transmission. If youre tire of performance vehicles that are great track machines, but harsh daily drivers, you owe it to yourself to take a test drive.

  • 2003 I 35 - 2003 Infiniti I35

22.5 MPG city 30 + highway. In almost 2 years have not had to have one item serviced. Dealership was so-so but love the car. Better performance than my 91 corvette and after being a loyal American car buyer now owing a car that has not had numerous problems (or even one) is fantastic. Individually I could have found cars that offered better performance, but not value size, equipment. And the better performance vehicles lacked the other qualities. Believe it or not I choose this car over the BMW 545 and it cost about 1/2 the price of the 545!

  • Love this car - 2003 Infiniti M45

After test driving a LS400 top of the line Lexus then visiting the Infiniti dealership, it was an easy choice. The dealership not only treated us more professionally, but had a superior product with a much better price tag. Loved driving this car its lots of fun. Ran a G-tech on the car and it ran 0-60 in 6 seconds and a quarter mile in 14.2 not bad for a four door sedan. If you are looking dont miss a test drive of this car. So far the only downside I noticed was that the controls on the side of the seat are not real easy to reach, however once the seats are set the memory seats are easy to reach.

  • WOW! Perfomance with Value - 2003 Infiniti G35

The G35 is a drivers car. The engine Purrs when the car is on and encourages you to accelarate. The car is loaded with safety features. Its an adventure to drive and priced fairly for all that it offers. Ive owned the G35 for over 5 months and I still get a big smile when I start my 1 hour daily commute.

  • Beemer beater with only minor complaints - 2003 Infiniti G35

My parents bought this car about 4 days ago and replaced our 2000 Volvo S80. Its a great car thats fun to drive and great excelleration. We got it with the Winter Package and Primuim package and the wood trim pacage which looks so much more classy than that cheep plastic looking "metal". The car is tight and fast!! The seats are firm and only complaint about them is that the automatic controlls are located on top of the cushion and cause some discomfort. The seat is no where near as comfortable as our S80 but its overlooked when your flying past BMWs on the highway.

  • Excellent vehicle if you can live with rattles - 2014 Infiniti QX60
    By -

Our QX60 is a great all-around vehicle. It has excellent rear cargo storage, the seats are comfortable, and fuel economy is very good for this segment. We would be completely satisfied except for one major flaw- rattles are abound in every corner of the vehicle. Within about 1,000 miles, the doors started rattling. Soon thereafter, the dash started rattling in multiple locations. We love so much about this vehicle, but the rattles are such a daily annoyance that this will likely be our last Infiniti. Such a disappointment for an otherwise excellent vehicle.

  • Best Luxury sports coupe on the market - 2008 Infiniti G37

This car is absolutely a joy to own. Not only does it have a 330 HP engine that is fun to drive but all the features and options this car has is unbelievable. The Bose system in the premium package is one of my favorite things about this car. It is so clear and if you like loud stereos, you can crank it up to really feel the 2 10" subs. Everything from the design, performance, luxury and affordability makes this car a must have for any sort of car enthusiast.

  • Moms new 120,000 QX4 - 1997 Infiniti QX4
    By -

My brother bought this SUV in 1995 and ran it up 40k and did a quick sale to me as a fixer upper for $1000, he was told from a shop that it would cost $12k to fix right. Nonsense!~!Well $1200 later she was purring and looking new, but you have to look at the estimates! They priced everything as infinity and tried to charge dealership cost plus shop markup! I shopped pathfinder on ebay and cut the bill. Then gave it to mom, shes in love with her qx4 and even had the stereo upgraded with a new stereo with back up camera and DVD has been flawless for another 60k miles and climbing. She says it isnt how old you are, its how your treated.
