Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • M35 - Great Car for Non-Soccer Phase - 2007 Infiniti M45

We purchased an M35 for our new "non-soccer parents" phase of our life (were in our late 40s). After ~6 weeks of driving we are extremely pleased with the comfort and performance (not surprising considering our last vehicle was a Toyota Sienna minivan). The disappointment is the mileage is at the low end of its rating (were getting ~20 mpg when gas is >$3/gallon!). We test drove the Lexus GS 350, Mercedes E350 and Acura RL. The M has the comfort and peformance we wanted.

I love my car. Test drove BMW 330i, VW Passat, Acura TL, Subaru Outback, Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima. I made my mind up after only one visit and one test drive. Love the looks car inside and out. Drives great and many fun features. I have over 1500 miles and I can find a few suggested improvements, but even with those I would not trade it for another car.

This is a G35 S 6MT with the premium package. The performance is awesome. Ive driven Volvo S60R, BMW 330i, Audi A4(3.0 and 2.0 T) and this is the most impressive engine. Best selling point was when salesmen let me test drive alone and left traction control off by accident. Car almost went sideways on dry pavement shifting to second with an automatic. Was concerned about its traction control until I found out traction control was off. I later drove a manual with it on. I can say this is the fastest car Ive ever driven and blows BMW and Audi away unless you pay the extra 30-40K for Audi S-4, RS-4, or BMW M3. Premium is worth it for the awesome bose studio on wheels and the bluetooth

  • Very enjoyable - 2007 Infiniti G35

Coming up on first year anniversary. Have had none, zero, zip problems with this wonderful car. Which, to me, is pretty amazing. The voice-activated navigation system is terrific, though this is my first exposure to a navigation system, so I have nothing to compare it against. Early in my ownership (first 60days) I had occasion to use the four wheel drive during an ice/sleet/snow storm. It was a little nerve-wracking because I had just shelled out for the car and I would have rather been in my 14 year old suv but it handled as advertised and I was sold. Also, when you want to blow past traffic, the 306 hp (which Ive never had before) is impressive.

Very nice vehicle. Came out of audi s4. Not the v8 beast but fun and easy to drive fast and smooth. Great road feel and lighter car to drive. More of a generic look but I wanted something more low key. Great value for the money. Did a 24 mo lease to see if i like it.

  • Will never drive anything else! - 2003 Infiniti G35

I absolutely love my G35! This is my first time to own an Infiniti and I am sold completely! This car is so fun to drive and it looks amazing. Yes, the fuel economy is horrible and yes the brakes do go out too soon and yes the idea of controlling the radio and the air conditioner with the same part is not wise (have had experiences with it all), but still, to be an owner of this car, to look at it and drive it is out of this world. Major trunk space! I cant wait to own my next Infiniti. Bring it on!

Love it. I just picked up my 6MT; it is my dream come true. Every time I get in my Coupe, I cant wait to get it on the 6th gear and drive it fast. I still must break the engine at 1200 mi, so I am taking it easy. It is hard though because you just want to pump the gas into the engine to shoot off the line. Heads turn every where I go. Love the Navigation Sys. and BOSE stereo sys.

  • Love, Love, Love my 2011 QX56 - 2011 Infiniti QX56
    By -

I traded in a 2010. If youre a current QX owner... youve got to experience in the new QX in person - I think Infiniti has hit a home run. The new QX drives MUCH more like a car than a big SUV. It has VERY surprising pick-up and power, and the braking is superb. The visibility from the driving position is excellent - I truly feel like I have full command of the road, as opposed to simply being an occupant. As for wind-noise... Ive driven several times well over 70MPH, and unless its very gusty outside, or theres a strong headwind, there is little, if any wind-noise to speak of in the new QX. Its very, very quiet.
