Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • 2007 G35x - The Japanese BMW - 2007 Infiniti G35

This car is a great value for the money. It combines performance + technology well just like BMW. I previously test drove the Lexus IS250 AWD and decided to go with this car because it had more rear legroom. Head to head it is a better match up with the IS350. I got it with the Premium package and Nav. I love the Compact Flash slot up front because you can use it to play your mp3s and wmas. You can also store your songs on the 9.5 GB hard drive. Very few cars out now have both these features. You dont even need CDs. The Nav can be used with voice or touch screen. You can also watch DVDs on the same screen if you hookup a video player like a Video Ipod or Zune !

A pleasure to drive begining day one. Only problem has been with radio face plate and climate control. Power, handling and awsome good looks generates comments almost every time I go out. Gas milage about 19. I am surprised at how good it handles in the snow, anti skid works great in slippery condintions.

  • Good buy. - 2004 Infiniti G35

I have always loved Toyotas but I finally tried Infiniti. The G35 has wonderful handiling and pick-up. You could really feel the bumps on the highway yet its a very smooth ride except for the bumps. The car has good leather but not big enough seats or rear leg room. The G35 needs a bigger trunk. This car has real wood, a wonderful stereo and high-quality leather.

  • Drive it & you will buy it !!! - 2003 Infiniti G35

There is very little, NOT to like in the G35 Coupe` This is a $55000 automobile, wraped in a $35000 body ! It handles better than most similar cars on the road, will out accelerate most, & will sure turn more heads than any Beamer might. This car was planned out right the first time. It does not need power upgrades, or mods. It does fine off the dealer lot ! I had a zero defect auto, & 2000 miles later, still do. Not 1 rattle or squeak. There will be no surprises with this car, except the true enjoyment of owning a luxury auto, that will out handle a M3 Beamer, for more than $15000 less. Like I stated, drive one & you will buy one.

  • 07 Infiniti G35 Sport... Unbeatable! - 2007 Infiniti G35

I upgraded to the G35 Sport from a rather outdated Oldsmobile, so I was immediately impressed by the handling, power, and comfort. Not only is the car stylish, it can stand on its own when it comes to performance. The touchscreen GPS and bluetooth are great features that make driving much more convenient. Also, you have about 5 different methods to play music through the car, including the flash drive, in-dash hardrive, 6 cd changer, in-dash player, and the RCA jacks in the center armrest. Gas mileage ranges from 16 mpg in busy city streets, to about 27 mpg on open freeway at 75-80 mph.

Have had this car for 18 months and still enjoy driving as much as day one. This is not a good winter car but cant beat it for summer driving.

  • So far so great - 2003 Infiniti G35

Although I have only had the car for a short three weeks, I love it to death....Its really fun to drive...I did have an annoying buzzing sound that came from the Bose speaker in the back...It was replaced and now I am 100% satisfied.

  • Maxima to G35 - 2005 Infiniti G35
    By -

Great driving car! Much better than FWD maxima, but not as much room. Reworked interior much improved for 2005,also more power. Feels as if your in a V-8. Had to give up sunroof due to headroom, and seat could be longer for better thigh support, but the way it handles makes up for having a smaller space. Anyone under 63" should be OK.
