Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • immaculate - 2003 Infiniti G35

One word to describe the car...IMMACULATE. The car is both luxurious and sporty at the same time. Infinity really out did themselves this time. The car handles incredible and the acceleration is impressive. I drove the cadillac CTS, the Acura TL type S, but none come close to the new G35 especially if you are considering price.

  • A great value compared to the 3 series - 2005 Infiniti G35

The G35X is the perfect blend of luxury and performance. I had resigned myself to the 3 series until I discovered the G35. What was lacking in the BMW I found in the Infiniti. When considering price, reliability, size and style the G35X has it all over the 3 series. This car screams and is a blast to drive. I hope the AWD proves to be a worthwhile investment this winter.

If you want some room and comfort, but dont want to sacrifice performance, this is your car.

  • AWESOME BABY - 2004 Infiniti M45

I have had three Q45s before the M45 and this was not a step down. The M45 is a truely enjoyable and fun ride. The M45 handles the road and is much more sporty than the flagship Q. The acceleration is mesmerizing. The driver seat encompass the body like a glove. A splendid vehicle. The only negative is the confusing instumentation.

  • Get up and go go - 1999 Infiniti I30

The ride is smooth, car has some suprisingly serious get up and go, and the interior is very comfortable. The only downside is body style changed in 2000 and became more stylish. Mechanically this car is every bit as reliable as a Honda Accord, but in my opinion looks better and drives more comfortably.

  • Great car but some disappointments - 2004 Infiniti QX56

Very practical, safe car for families. Smooth, luxurious, powerful, comfortable. A few quirks needed repairs: sunroof rollers had been painted, resulting in squealing noise; DVD screen rattles a bit; cruise control didnt work. Stereo system a let-down. VERY happy with sales experience at Miller Van Nuys--bought my QX56 early in the game and did TONS of research and wouldnt be taken advantage of with regards to sales price. Miller (David Marsh in fleet sales) presented best deal of all dealerships in CA and other local states and even beat FleetRate.com

  • DG review - 2003 Infiniti G35

Shopped against BMW and 350Z. It is quicker and handles better than my 95 325i. Bought partially because BMW service is a rip-off. More comfortable seats than BMW. Wife and I can go away for a weekend with golf clubs, tennis rackets, etc. I love driving to work!

  • What can I say, I Love it - 2004 Infiniti G35

I love this car, but it didnt hold its value very well. Droping $10,000 in 12 months is pathetic. Its not the worst ive seen. I sure hope it holds better over the next year or 2.

  • The cheaper fun factor! - 2004 Infiniti G35
    By -

Owned 1999 BMW 323 sport and 2002 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro. Ever since AWD Ive been addicted... The car is fun to drive! This blows away may my previous vehicles for fun to drive (acceleration) though the 323 did handle tighter. Highway experience is much more enjoyable than the others. Unfortunately it will be to the dealers the third time in the first month of ownership - thus confirming JD powers low score - I wish it came out earlier as I may have paused to buy the 2005 version instead (assuming that they learned from the past). Issues after 1 month: XM receiver will be replaced twice. Doors rattles (speaker loose and cables rubbing) 3 times in s
