Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Why did they stop making these?! - 2001 Infiniti QX4
    By -

I am a very particular buyer and I have to say my QX4 has exceeded all my expectations! I cannot say enough about this vehicle! Start with the engine, 240hp will move; no traffic conditions will deter you from going where you want to go! The 4 wheel drive system is excellent as well, just a click of the dial and you are good to go. It handled flawlessly last winter in a heavy snowstorm, while other cars on the road were crawling along at 25mph, I was instantly up to 40mph and felt like I was on dry pavement. Very confidence inspiring! The Infiniti gets looks everywhere I go and theres not a lot of these on the road which makes it even more unique! I love this SUV! Buy one, youll thank me!

  • 2005 G35 Coupe - 2005 Infiniti G35

Ive owned some nice cars (Mercedes & Lexus) over the years, but Ive never found myself going to the garage to admire any of the other cars. The G35 is a nice blend of sport and luxury. However, dont expect to get the soft and quiet ride you might expect in a luxury sedan. The design of the G35 is elegant, both inside and out, but it is really a polished sports car. I went with the 18" wheels because of the design as well as the more forgiving suspension (versus the 19" wheel and sport suspension package). Ive had the car a month now and am always looking for reasons to drive it. My wife says shes never seen me so eager to run errands before!

  • I will buy another Infinity - 2002 Infiniti I35
    By -

I purchased my Infinity in December of 2001 - the car is a 2002 though. It is now 2015 and Im still driving my Infinity. She has 229,000 miles on her and she still runs great! I still have the same engine and transmission in her. I will definitely buy another Infinity.

  • Amazing Vehicle - 2004 Infiniti G35

I have 15,000 miles on my coupe and like it more each day. Have had no problems with it. Makes my daily commute something to look forward to.

  • 2004 G35X AWD Infiniti - 2004 Infiniti G35
    By -

Lets get down to details, 34K out of the showroom with premium package, XM and tinting. This is the AWD version which drives like a champ. I looked at a Acura TL (2004), no movement with price (33.5K). My dealership experience was straightforward and pleasant. I got the car I wanted and Im very happy with it performance. The AWD is not intrusive and my dead stop acceleration blows away most all the cars out there. Merging onto freeway traffic is a snap. I have to watch my speedometer because getting past 80mph is effortless. This is a very fine product by Infiniti.

  • Exhilarating - 2003 Infiniti G35

What a phenomenal package of performance, luxury, looks, quality, reliability and price! Way to go Infiniti. They should have given this car its own letter of the alphabet, because G is where the similarity ends between the outgoing G20 and the up and coming G35. This car is awesome. Lets call it the A35.

  • Great vehicle - 2008 Infiniti G35
    By -

Ive had this car for three months and overall Im quite pleased. The only thing Im not happy about is I feel this car has too many creeks, squeaks and buzzes for a car in its price class. Otherwise interior fit and finish is fine. Also the paint gives the appearance of orange peel at certain angles...this applies to all Nissan products. The fit is fine though. Otherwise this vehicle delivers the goods. The factory sound system has a nice sound but to me, its pretty soft on the volume.

  • "5 STAR BARGAIN" - 2014 Infiniti QX50
    By -

Retired after 35 years in the automobile business. Researched the 2014 Infinity QX50 thoroughly before purchase. Cant drive it enough! All day comfortable! Wonderful power and luxury! Negotiated a great deal! Naturally aspirated 6 cylinder with 325 horsepower.(No turbo or supercharger to worry about). Japanese reliability. My wife and I recently returned from Pennsylvania, put on 1000 miles(24 miles per gallon). Great through the mountains! We put the rear seats forward for more storage and better visibility. Dont hesitate to buy the QX50 or to compare it to anything in its class. 2014 Infinity QX50 AWD Journey.(Moonlight White) OH YEAH!

  • Fantastic, Beautiful, Fast, Refined Car - 2008 Infiniti G37
    By -

I just picked up my 2008 G37 Journey last night. I already have a few hundred miles on it and I absolutely am in love with this car. It has a red exterior and black interior, with the Premium, Navigation, Technology and Sports packages. It also came with the spoiler, splash guards and cargo net. Its a dream to drive. Quiet on the inside with a sweet exhaust note. Even with the Sports package, it rides really well. It is a really refined and well-built car. It has so many "toys" that I dont know where to start. Its a beautiful car and its getting a lot of attention and positive comments. This one is destined to be a classic.

  • A great SUV - 2005 Infiniti QX56
    By -

I checked out all the large SUVs and am a previous owner of the Lexus LX470 and Escalade EXT. The QX56 was tops because: 1- The interior room, especially the 2nd row. 2- The seats fold flat for excellent storage and comfortable for my aging Golden Retriever. 3- The looks are attractive . 4- The rear parking camera. 5- The navagation system is far more practical and useful than On Star, plus its free. 6-Infiniti people, corporate, called me to ask how I like it and how they could make it better. Impressive.I wanted to get another LX, but they still insist that their removeable 3rd row seats, are a good idea. Who wants to store them.I believe most people spending 70k dont have small kids.
