Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Awesome - 2003 Infiniti G35

This is as fun to drive as my Porsche Boxster! I put four Dunlop Blizzak snow tires for winter time and blow Audis away on the Hwy! I travel to the major ski areas every weekend and have had no problems in the snow. I am looking to purchase the new AWD G35 soon!

Awesome car. Interior materials could be better. I only have 2 gripes with the car. 1 - You cannot change the factory stereo. the only option is to order several parts from japan but then you lose dual zone climate control (and itll set you back around $400) 2 - Gas mileage is awful. I average 18 - 19mpg regardless of city or highway.

  • I no longer want a BMW - 2003 Infiniti G35

This car is FUN to drive. Accelleration is brisk, almost startling, with smooth shifts from the 5-speed automatic. The transmission seems to be programmed to keep the engine in the power band during brisk acceleration. It is extremely tight in corners with the vehicle dynamic control turned on. Interior comfort is excellent. All together, this is a well- designed and well-executed sports sedan.

  • The Answer Ive Been Looking For - 2003 Infiniti G35

This car fits my needs perfectly, as the Audi A4 was too small, the local BMW dealership is less than reputable, the IS300 was a small overpriced mess and the value-packed TL Type-S was lacking passion. I have found my car. Some reviewers say that the G35 approaches the ride quality of the BMW 3-series, but Im here to tell you that it SURPASSES it. An easy purchase decision.

  • This Car is BETTER than BMW 3!!!! - 2006 Infiniti G35

Eventhough this car doesnt get the best gas mileage, but thats not the reason I bought it! It has fantastic acceleration, with 280 HP on tap it flies!! The car is very balanced around corners with little body roll. The body shows the passion of the designers. I Love this car!!

  • No problems ever - 2000 Infiniti I30
    By -

The I30 has been my best vehicle ever. Four years + 3months of ownership and I have never had a warranty issue or mechanical breakdown. I replaced the tires at 33000. Oil changes every 3K, transmission oil at 30K, Cooling system at 30K. It jumps into traffic, rides like a dream. Why should I ever sell it or trade it?

  • G35 coupe - 2004 Infiniti G35

I have owned 3 Nissan Z coupes and have nothing but good things to say about them. I chose the G35 coupeover other coupes,i.e., Lexus, Mercedes, Audi and the Z based on 4 seats, looks and comfort. after 6 months, I havent found a single thing to put on my list of things for the dealer to fix when I go in for my first routine service.

  • Awesome Auto! - 2004 Infiniti G35

I bought this car and it is extremely fun to drive! My wife didnt want it, now she cant stop driving it. Best value, performance, quality there is on the market. Dont look at the 350Z, get this instead. If you dont like people looking at you and your car, then dont buy this one. Everytime I drive it, I get a smile on my face.
