Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

This is one fun vehicle to drive. We purchased used (17,000 miles)and are quite happy with the fit and finish of the 4dr G35. The performance is wild and it sticks to the road like a glove. Very comfortable on long drives too, but its real attributes is its performance and power.

I have owned this vehicle for 20 months of carefree driving. It has performed well, with the exception that you should garage it for any snowfall. If they ever build an awd for the coupe, it would be terrific. Most fun luxury sports coupe on the market.

Weve owned our G35 for more than a year now. Except for confusing dashboard controls, we love our car. On the highway it demostrates great stability and road fee as well as strong acceleration and powerful brakes. On a twisty road it is wonderful fun to drive. It is definitely NOT a run of the mill, boring sedan

I love this car. It is a fantastic road car. I get "looks" everywhere I drive it. Tremendous horsepower from the V6. Works great in snow.

  • How can you consider anything else? - 2004 Infiniti G35

Plain and simple, there is no other status/luxury car in this price range that can beat the G35 in its overall combination of: horsepower, torque, braking ability, value, reliability, exterior styling, acceleration, handling, top end speed, rear wheel drive, roominess/legroom/headroom, trunk space, beautiful car logo and front grill. Infiniti has hit a grand slam in the bottom of the ninth with this awesome car. Get the 6 speed manual if you like watching the Daytona 500 or you can get the 5 speed automatic if youre lazy. Get the G35 in black with black leather interior and black tinted rear windows for a mother of a monster mean machine. Go buy it.

Fun to drive, cool to be seen in! Tire mileage is poor but everything else is to like. Great seat comfort and good visibility. I really only wish it came in a roadster.

i am an ase certified master technician and i work for honda so believe me when i say the g20 is one of the most reliable cars ever made. the motor, transmission, and suspension are all bullet proof. my g20 has 198k on it and it gets 30-32 hwy mpg, doesnt leak, or burn a drop of oil, has the original alternator, water pump, and radiator. sometimes i have to make sure the car is still idling because it idles so smooth. i want to buy another one but my wife wont let me lol. but one is all youll ever need 300,000 miles on original motor and trans is definatley achievable. i cant say enough postitive things about this car, if you have a chance to own one i reccomend it.
