Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

The G35 is the best car I have ever driven.

  • Love my G35 Coupe! - 2004 Infiniti G35

Since it is a first year model, there have been about 3 recalls on this vehicle. Although, they have all been promptly fixed. The service I receive on my car has been excellent. Overall, I love this car and will keep it for a very long time.

  • Suberb vehicle, incredible value! - 2004 Infiniti G35

This review is on a 2004.5(serial#s> 4M600000)6sp sedan. The touchy brakes that were evident in my 2003 test drive are not there in my 2004 car. It is always compared with a BMW 3 series but should truly be compared with a BMW530I. It has greater performance, bigger trunk, combined rear/front leg room is the same and similar luxury features. A similar equipped 530I is $54,000. This car handles and performs so well you want to find an excuse to drive it. An 80mph with the FM on it is very quiet, a sheer pleasure to drive. The Bose audio system if very good. It appears to sound better than the 2003 version I had previously tested.

  • My G35 - 2004 Infiniti G35

The car is fabulous. We shopped around for several months before purchasing my G35 Sedan. It was down to the IS300, Acura TL and the Nissan Maxima. We finally decided on the Infinity and I am so glad. I love the car. Love the power of the car, the looks, the design. It is clearly a high class car. Up there with the best.

  • The best car in the world - 2004 Infiniti G35

Its been the best car I have ever owned. My previous car was a Lincoln LS with a V-8. This car is much faster and much more fun to drive AND it was $7000 cheaper!

  • This is one fantastic vehicle - 2004 Infiniti G35

Ive owned my G35 Coupe for almost a year and I can tell you its the best car Ive ever owned. Its so responsive it almost anticipates your every move, and when you hit the gas it moves. My most favorite section of the road these days is the on ramp. The only major flaw Ive seen is in interior design. The wardrobe hook in the back is almost useless, and the seat heaters are very easy to turn on accidentally. Other than that, this one is awesome!

  • G35 has lots of G-force - 2004 Infiniti G35

In a nutshell, this car rocks! Its definitely an attention getter, but more than that it performs and feels like a solidly designed car. As an engineer, Im skeptical about many car designs, and well, this one does not really leave anything to complain about.

  • Fun & Affordable - 2004 Infiniti G35

It has been an excellent car for commuting and trips out of town. Plenty of power and a blast to drive.

  • G35 Coupe - 2004 Infiniti G35

Power drivers seat makes a ratcheting noise when I sit in it and move it rearward. The ORlando Sentinel reported several months ago about bad engine sensors that could malfunction causing the engine not to start, havent heard a thing officially from Infinity. Bad placement of beverage holders. Coupe needs memory feature for a two driver car. Fuel economy is not what I think it shoud be. We came out of a 2000 Corvette Coupe into this vehicle that car would get 28 miles to the gallon on the road, this one may get 21 or 22 if your lucky.
