Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Best SUV Ever! - 2006 Infiniti QX56
    By -

My Wife had a Choice of Any type of SUV out there but liked the Nissan Armada. We both saw a QX56 & said thats it! Not knowing it was the same SUV. We Love the Body style, Interior, GPS, Bose system, backup camera & audible warning, easy lifting 2nd row seats, DVD entertainment (added another Headrest DVD system), didnt include Tow Package but decided later not to add one because it Cheapens the look of the vehicle, added 22" Customs Wheels w/Low profile tires, Cold Air Intake and Exhaust system (MagnaFlow) for Fuel efficiency. Only problem that we inccured are that the Sunroofs plastic bracket comes off a lot, Air condition controls and all Passengers windows sometimes doesnt work.

  • Fx 35 AWD mid nigh mocha fully loaded - 2011 Infiniti FX
    By -

Have the car for one week so far, read lots of review before settle for the Fx, was interest in BMW X5, Porsche Cayenne, but decide on the infiniti for best bang for the buck. Not disappointed, the big tires are awesome, and the grunt of the engine along with the power it deliver makes me anxious in a good way. The car just lurch forward. If I dont mindful, would be speeding any time. Glendale Infiniti around my house provide excellent service, they dig out the color for me while some dealer ask me to comprise. They also give me a good interest rate and did not quote a high price to negotiate so I did not have to waste time negotiating. I check price around several dealerships.

This car is understated elegance. It is truly a great car that has been mostly ignored by the reviewers and the buyers. I also owned a 1992 Q45. it was also a great car. i never had a problem with either cars. D.E.

  • 2007 G35 Sport Review - 2007 Infiniti G35
    By -

I previously owned a 2005 G35 6MT. The 2007 G35 Sport is more luxurious and powerful. The handling seems ever so slightly less agile, but the overall refinement of the car is obvious in every way. Interior design is now more in line with competitive cars. An excellent follow up to a great sports sedan.

  • The WOW car !!! - 2004 Infiniti G35

I researched a bunch of cars before getting this ... other cars I considered was the Mazda 6 and the Acura TL. What I like the best is how perfect its feels to drive. Its responsive, quick, nimble, classy and comes at a great price!! Love the AWD ... it really works !!!

  • This car is quick! - 2004 Infiniti G35
    By -

Absolutely the most fun per minute of any car Ive owned. I got it loaded with premium and aero packages (the spoiler just looks hot on this car), Navigation, etc. It turns like its on rails. $20 grand cheaper then the 5 Series BMW, and it smoked a GS300 off the start. You have to remind yourself to slow down on the interstate...its easy to cruise at 85.
