Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Eat your Heart out BMW - 2003 Infiniti G35

I just picked up mine today. Any indecision I had between this car and the BMW 330ci melted away the second I turned the key on the test drive and heard this engine roar to life. I drove the BMW last night, and it felt like a Honda Civic in comparison. Although the G35 may not hold the resale value as well, I guarantee this car will be a lot more fun and turn a lot more heads (I have been driving it all night and it already has).

Weve never had anything remotely like this car. The performance and handling are unbelievable, and shes a for real head turner in our red w/black leather and the spoiler. It is a true pleasure and feels like something special every time we take her out. The car is completely reliable, and considering the power the gas mileage is reasonably good. When you are in the drivers seat, you get that chic sports car feel with the instrumentation and controls all extremely well thought out.

  • My Twilight Blue G35 Coupe - 2004 Infiniti G35

My final choices were the BMW 325Ci or the G35c. The question I asked myself was whether I wanted a $35-36k coupe with only 190 HP (BMW 325Ci-$40k for the 330Ci)or a wallet saving $30k coupe with 280HP, muscular looks, outstanding service, and a design that is outstanding and modern in its curves and lines. Sure the Beamer handles well beyond the G35 (it is the ultimate driving experience) and the acceleration is more linear, but for the price, engine, value, and service, the G has no other competitor. With the base model, this sports car is a bargain.

All in all I love the car. Fun to drive and is very good on gas. I will be honest I do not use premium fuel as the manual suggest but I wont tell if you wont tell.

  • Excellent build quality and fun to drive - 2009 Infiniti G37

Have it for the last 2 weeks; interior design, comfort and features are outstanding; I switched from a BMW 3 series and will take some time to adjust to the drive; but I think G37 comes close.

  • Gas Shocker - 2013 Infiniti FX

I purchased this car about six months ago after driving a Lexus RX SUV for several years. I was impressed with the appearance of the large tires and body style. That along with friends loving theirs, influenced my buy. What was the frosting on the cake is the Hwy gas mileage. 31 mpg at 65 to 70 miles per hour on cruise. Constantly so! I love this jewel and especially the soft white color. I do not get excellent mileage around the city due to stops, starts and possibly quick starts. Still, it is not bad. Anywhere from 17 to 23 in the city. The unexpected excellent hwy gas mileage was not noted on the specs. I have never had a vehicle with so many compliments from other drivers.

  • Loads of Fun - 2005 Infiniti G35

I really enjoy driving this car. Being in sales and on the road alot the Sirius radio is a god send. The fast pick up getting on and off highways is great. As far as styling this car is a looker this is a sexy car even with 4 doors.

  • Great Car to Lease - 2012 Infiniti G Sedan
    By -

Amazing lease deals on G25x. Got a 2012 for 1300 down and 335 a month incl tax. Thats amazing for a luxury car! Cant even get a v6 Camry or accord for that. Decent power, good mpg, awd! Very nice interior and controls. Handles like a dream. Seats too small, not enough thigh support.

  • Not a Lexus - 2003 Infiniti Q45
    By -

The LS 430 is all around a much better car albeit with a much higher price tag. The Q has no heated seats or compass which ought to be standard in a premium sedan. Resale value is awful and Infiniti service is a myth. I will return to Lexus.

  • Great Car - 2002 Infiniti I35

I choose the I35 after considering the Lexus ES300, the Lincoln LS, and the Accura TL. I have not been disappointed. The power is unsurpassed for a four door family sedan. The sound system is also top notch
