Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

It is a great car with the perfect features for the price. Great style and comfort, and I would recommend this car to anyone looking for a car in the same price range.

Likes to be driven hard. Original Bridgestones are terrible...lousy wet traction. Has leather, but I wish I bought the upgraded interior.

My lease was ending on my 08 Sentra and I immediately thought of Infiniti. Went to my dealer and test drove the G35 but it wasnt for me. My salesman then showed me the 25x and that was it. No question! Its doesnt come with Navi but with an iPhone or any smart phone Navi is obsolete. This car is definitely a head turner, love the interior, super comfortable, great back up camera and the dash is awesome. The only thing that I dont like is the loud growl it makes when you take off, its slightly intimidating but then again Ive only had her for a week so Im sure I will get used to it in time. Hate driving in the snow but Im sure this winter I wont mind.

I purchased an upscale 2013 Infiniti G37 Journey Sedan about 12 months ago with the Navigation and Premium packages that is a real pleasure to own and drive. Competitive Sports Sedan Cars are appealing and offer options that others wish for, but BMW, Lexus, Audi, or Mercedes-Benz have similar size and features. Edmunds reviews this sedan as a pretty compelling luxury sport sedan, with caveat that up against newer, more recently updated rivals, it isnt as appealing as it once was... I used Edmunds along with other sites to help make the car selection process easy. I sold my 2008 G35X Sedan with options to offset the price at sale. Beyond the personal choices you make, depreciation is the largest TCO driver. So I’d consider the makes, trims and package options, then choose or trade-off to comment on anything that is new and costs over $40K must be questioned as to why you need that or why it matters. The Infiniti Q50 Sedan as new and similarly configured would be at least $5-10K more, but some of the technology was not for me.

This car is fast and a great handler. The standard radio is pathetic! Spend a $1000 on a new system and you will be better off than the upgraded radio which also stinks.

  • Owned For Two Years - 2005 Infiniti G35

Love this car. Tires are expensive and services are expensive. I have the 6MT and havent had any problems with it. Only to replace the battery and the driver side window motor all covered by the warranty @ 35,000 miles. Fun to drive and enough room to bring my luggage for trips. Beats the automatic cars any day. Excellent engine, smooth sound. Love the exhaust growl as well.

Best car I,ve owned. Previously had a 02 Maxima SE. Car loooks great drives great and is just ..great. Makes me want to drive all the time. Bose stereo is kind of lousy but everything else is almost perfect.

  • WOW! - 2003 Infiniti G35

I have had the car for four days now and it is tons of fun! Lots of power under the hood and the looks are awesome. The only downside so far, from a single male perspective, is this car attracts other guys like none other. People have been coming up to me and wanting to look inside and ask all sorts of questions, even the valets argued over who got to go it for me! Its fun to drive and fun to look at.
