Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

I am so excited about this car. It offers a perfect combination of modern luxury with a perfect sport feel to it. The power is excellent and handles the road with ease. I cant say I test drove any of the other comparable cars but I didnt get that far because the G35 was the first car I drove and I was sold instantly. I went all out and got the Sport/Navigation/Premium package with the spoiler. I love the spoiler. It adds a perfect but not tacky touch. The technology is awesome and I feel like Im in a space rocket. To me, this car looks best with a black exterior but thats just my opinion.

I love my Car! I bought it as soon as it came out in 2002 (as a 2003 Model). I really enjoy driving it and it has a lot of horsepower. Had I known that Infiniti was going to come out with a Coupe 8 months down the road I think I would have held out for it! I am very satisfied with the car overall. This is the 3rd Infiniti I have owned and It will not be the last. They Are great cars and have immaculate reliability.

after test driving 3 lexus, 330, cts, lt-s and 300m the g35 is a standout. as far as performance the acura was the closest but did not have that true sport sedan feel. then bmw had great handling but was small and $. the g35 has more power and luxury and other cars in class. as soon as i sat in the car i new it was the right one for me. its the best toy i have every bought.

This is my first car, but Ive driven plenty and I couldnt believe how awesome this car is. I got my hands on only 1 of 2 black, premium, performance G35s. I love the 5 spokes. I also traded the summer compound for the Vrated all seasons. I love this car

Me and my girlfriend had a few doubts about the car but all have been proven wrong, gas mileage is poor if u drive it hard and yes brakes go quickly but its crash impact ratings sold us and the bargain price. Our previous car was a toyota solara which cost more but wasnt half as fun to drive. Only beefs are the emergency brake interfering with left shin and window controllers are a lil low. Transmission can be slow at times but engine is definitely not. Fun to drive with VDC turned off.

  • Q45 - 2002 Infiniti Q45

This car is wonderful. Infiniti has really done a job well done. The Q45 is so luxurious and fun to drive. I got my new Q45 to 150 mph! The engine sounds great. I hit 6500 rpm! It has top quality leather and very fancy wood. the sound system is the best sound system in the world. Better than the mark levinson in the lexus. The 300-watt bose has the potential of a 8000 watt! I would take this over a rolls royce any day!

  • Best car ever had - 2005 Infiniti G35

  • High Mileage - No Worries - 2000 Infiniti I30

Hesitant to purchase w/ 76k, but have not had any problems yet. This car has enough power and mechanic says it will go 200k w/regular maintenance. Perfect realtor car! Purchased for $13k out the door and will buy pre owned luxury before brand new mid line again. Wish it had navigation which is very rare on these cars. Priced better than Lexus with even par quality. Performance with decent MPG. Transmission is as smooth as could be.
