Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Great Coupe - 2008 Infiniti G37

I love this car! It reacts immediately when you hit the gas. The shifting is smooth. The interior looks great. All the accessories make it perfect. It corners really well at high speeds. It looks great. Before I bought the 6 speed manual, I test drove the automatic. The automatic was a complete letdown for me. The shifting was not smooth at all and the acceleration was not there. Its night and day between manual and automatic. I cant say enough about the G37. Its simply awesome.

  • I love it! - 2004 Infiniti I35

I have had it for two weeks now and look for excuses to go for a ride and take it out on the road. It has a lot of power and I usually win the race across the intersection. It is comfortable on all types of roads. I considered the new Maxima and Altima but I liked the way the I35 handled and the way it felt when I drove it. I love the whole car.

  • Flawless Fun! - 2003 Infiniti G35

I have taken this car up and down the east coast, across the country, and up and down nearly every tight turning road in California. This car has been exhilirating to say the least. It is a blast to drive and I constantly have people taking a "double take" of my car and complimenting the vehicle. I have 28000 miles on this vehicle thus far and I have had no problems. The dealerships in both Virginia and California have treated me like royalty. Customer service at these dealerships has been stupendous. I have no complaints whatsoever!

  • do not buy this car - 2004 Infiniti G35

I have had this car in for service items 4 times, (1)window off track, (2)clutch slipping, (3)drivers seat broken, (4) interior falling apart, first off the warranty is horrible, I have been asked to pay for parts, and it seeems as if the drivers seat falling apart was my fault,(still waiting for parts from Japan 4 weeks, have you ever tried to drive a manual trans. with a seat that slides 4 inches front to back with a press of the gas petal) Although service department is world class (third world), I would not recomend a G35 or Infiniti to anyone! Save your money!!

  • Performance + Reliable - 2006 Infiniti G35

Very Reliable, never had to use the warranty. You will eventually get used to the stock 298hp. Add a turbo or Supercharger and these cars are the best bang for the buck reliable luxury sports car available for under 30k! Getting in and out of the back seat is not really intended for adults, but thats not why your reading this review is it? My Vortech supercharged G35 gets 18mpg city 23mpg highway, really good for 400+hp and its just about stock mpg! (Depends on how you drive)

  • Excellent Car - 2005 Infiniti G35

We all have different expectations on what the G35 Coupe should be like. No matter what those are we all agree that this car for its class is almost perfect. I had two Infinity QX4 before buying the G35 Coupe. This car continue to impress me in all driving conditions (city/highway). I am looking forward to the natural evolution of this model in 2008.

  • Excellent Used Car - 2001 Infiniti I30
    By -

Bought my 2001 I-30T used off a one owner lease at 31K. I have now had the car for 4 years and it is still meeting my expectations at 85K. Ive changed tires, belts, brake pads but other than one item (mass air flow sensor $300) all I have done is put oil and gas into it. It is sporty, plenty of power and averages 22 (19/25) mpg in mixed use driving and is quieter at highway speeds than the M. No rust, no probs, engine is one of the best.

  • "Wow" - 2006 Infiniti G35

I just love my new Infinity. It looks so sleek and eveyone I tell what I drive says, "WOW, nice car".

  • Great Car - 2003 Infiniti M45
    By -

This is a great car. It has style, power, handling and the interior is nice without being a luxury car. The controls make sense, the options are easier than the C class, which I also think is a great car. The Infiniti does not have the quirkeness: brake dust, strange HVAC controls, uncovered seat rail bolts.

  • Da Bomb - 2003 Infiniti G35

This car has excellent handling. Much cheaper than the BMW 330 and more power....260hp baby. Recommendation for future buyers. If anyone is buy the G35 Sedean....I highly recommend the Premium Package.
