Overview & Reviews
Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.
The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.
As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.
Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.
Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

RattleSUV - 2005 Infiniti QX56
By RattleSUV - December 25 - 8:16 pmThe car has had enough rattles for 20 auto. It has been in service at least every month working on the rattle and front wheel rattle. Would never purchase another Infiniti again after this experience.

Disappointed - 2016 Infiniti QX60
By Doug - December 24 - 9:16 pmI have had one of these as a rental car for over a week and can safely say I dislike it more than the day I got it. As a vehicle it has nice seats and decent room but I expected much more from it. The ride for a normal SUV is decent but not for this level of SUV. The trim looks nice but there is cheapness in nasty places. For example the plastic on the steering wheel is thin and sticks out almost cutting your hand. It has poor acceleration by my standards.

Yo Sappys 2004 Cobalt Blue QX56 4WD - 2004 Infiniti QX56
By yosappy - December 24 - 10:00 amI replaced my junky 1998 Oldsmobile Silhouette V6 Minivan with my New Infiniti 4WD V8 QX56 and I absolutely LOVE it! I test drove all the competitors, Lincoln, Lexus, Caddy & Acura before I bought my QX56 and nobody could touch this beauty. It is not only gorgeous, as attested to by the many very nice complements I receive wherever I drive it, by children and adults; but, it has excellent power to boot. I have 2 Sons who I have to haul to baseball, soccer, football and sleep- overs. So far, it does it all. I had to haul 2 large bookcases and many clothes, books and toys and I simply pulled 3 handles to put all the 3 rear seats down and I fit everything in.

The Best SUV on the Market - 2004 Infiniti QX56
By SUV Fan - December 24 - 10:00 amWe test drove between 10 and 15 SUVs from the Range Rover to the Honda Pilot over a 5 month period, many of them 2-3 times. We also read reviews from Edmunds, the New York Times, and Consumer Reports. Our conculsion was that the QX56 is the best SUV on the market by any measure (including price). We have owned the car for over a month now and have not been disappointed. I look forward to driving it and feel almost refreshed after long trips. We are really surprised by the value you get with this car vs. the Range Rover, Lexus, Land Cruiser, Denali, etc. The QX56 has a great ride and the best features for a very competitive price.

Enjoying my QX4 - 2001 Infiniti QX4
By Asreil - December 24 - 10:00 amSo far I have enjoyed my QX4. It has all luxury that you could ever need. I especially appreciate the in dash 6 disc changer. The look and feel is wonderful. It handles better than most SUVs Ive driven, not to mention the comfort. Even though its four years old now it steel turns head everywhere I go. I love it. I think it was the best vehicle purchase for me.

A Fun Ride - 2004 Infiniti G35
By chbjr - December 18 - 10:00 amWhat a fun car to drive. I have the upgraded performance package and it is worth it. The handling is precise and comfortable. Power and torque are good, although I would like more lower end torque. The brakes are a little touchier than what IÂ’m use to. IÂ’m finding that the gas mileage is good in both the city and on the highway. I get great comments about the looks of the car. The car is fast and the engine is capable of getting almost all of the speedometer. This was a great buy for me.
