Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

Great car overall. Steering needs a little getting used to. As quoted by Infiniti "A World’s First Technology, INFINITI’s Direct Adaptive Steering® (DAS) removes the mechanical connection between the steering wheel and tires". Fun to drive and the 3.0t engine definitely provides more than enough power.

This car is fast, to fast for american soil. I just got rid of a mazda millenia which i miss(but im over it). The only thing i think that is wrong with this car is that it gets terrible gas mileage, i literally see the gas gauge going down when i drive. I cant help go back to how fast this big car is. Top speed is 151 mph, we americans would never let one of ours go that fast unless it had a name to match it (corvette, mustang, camaro, etc). Big ups to infiniti, they should of issued us a gas station with this car though.

Purchased this car used w/27,000 miles on it. CPO Infiniti. Im a Lexus guy and still own one but this car really opened my eyes. The ride quality is great, no issues with sport suspension. Interior is quiet as any luxury car I have ever driven. This car takes no backseat to any German luxo sedan out there.

  • Excited About G35 Coupe - 2003 Infiniti G35

Its fun to drive with plenty of horses under the hood. Our G35 handles great and we saved over $6000.00 under the BMW 330i. The BMW comes standard with fewer options by far, with the luxury tax look out.

  • Sold on Infiniti - 2008 Infiniti M45

I purchased a 2008 M45 Sport in December. It was "used" with 3,700 miles and includes the Sport, Tech and Advanced Tech packages, which are just about everything youll need unless you are shuttling around some very special friends. (The only thing its missing is the reclining, heated rear seats... boohoo.) I looked at dozens of cars before finding this one at an incredible deal. Giving up a Porsche 911, I wanted power... check. I also wanted something luxurious... check. All without making me feel like I should be twice my age in order to drive it... thats where the Sport Pkg comes in. This car handles incredibly well for something this big and the acceleration nearly matches my 911.

The looks are better than almost any car on the road. The price compared to the competition makes this car a real bargain.

  • Wife changes mind about M45 vs Q45 - 2006 Infiniti M45
    By -

My husband purchased an M45 a month ago and initially I felt it was not as satisfying as our 2002 Q45 due to firmness of ride and being slightly noiser. But after driving it and having it this past month, I have changed my mind 100%. I love driving it and after lowering the tire pressure find it is not noisey at all. It is the best of the 7 Infinitis we have owned, (all Q45s except for my G35 Couple)

  • A muscle car in a slightly-upgraded clothing - 2013 Infiniti G Sedan
    By -

I got this G37 RWD Journey to inject some fun in my family car/ 100 miles/day commute routine. It delivered mostly with its responsive engine, communicative steering and pretty stiff but competent suspension. I have a slight issue with the automanual though - it is supposed to have the rev-matching feature but so far it seems to over-rev quite a bit - so the car surges forward on downshifts (3->2 especially). The seats are nicely shaped but somewhat hard on the bottom - the heater element might be the cause. Anything in the front cupholders seems to get in the way of operating the gearshift stick. The maintenance alert system relies on simple mileage and does not monitor oil/engine state.

  • I love this vehicle - 2003 Infiniti QX4

I am so pleased with my purchase. If you are thinking about getting a QX4 take it for a test drive, and I am sure you will fall in love with it!!! We have many luxury vehicles in my family and this is by far my favorite!!

  • Drove from Ohio to Miami - 2003 Infiniti G35
    By -

I just picked up my new G35 coupe. Black/black. It was a comfortable drive from Ohio to Miami. The navigator is awesome. Didnt see one other G35 coupe in 1200 miles. I got plenty of looks. Anyway, Ive had Mercedes, BMWs, Volvo C70 and a 300ZX. This car is by far the most fun. Its fast, luxurious, fun to drive. I bought this one instead of leasing. It will hold its value for sure. Actually, I lease a Q45. Resale value on other Infinitis is not good. But, I have confidence that I will have good luck with this car in a few years. 25 mpg on my trip (1900 miles)
