Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • A great Car New or Used - 1999 Infiniti I30

I purchased my I30 new in 1999 and it has been a great car. I have enjoyed the great service that I receive and free loaner cars (they are new cars). The car has no mechanical problems in the time that I have owned it and have spoken to other Infiniti owners who are loyal owners as well

The Road & Track sport sead shoot out got me interested and everything I checked out about the car was impresive. I like the car very much and comparing it to my last new car - a 98 528i its better in everyway and lots more fun!

AWESOME CAR. BANG FOR THE BUCKS.

  • Best vehicle purchase ever - 2008 Infiniti QX56
    By -

This is the 4th SUV we have owned and by far the finest. We loked at every large SUV available up to the $83K Lexus 570. And the value proposition of the QX56 was the best of class. Fit and finish is exceptional. It is a fun vehicle whose style is really coming into its own. Many think it was years ahead of its time when it was first introduced, but with the upgrades and minor front and rear fascia changes for 2008, is now just plain beautiful.

  • Wow - 2003 Infiniti G35

My Infiniti Number 7 and the very best yet. Fun to drive is better than my 00 Vette and much less attractive to the local police. Great Road Mannors in every condition Ive put it through. My daily driver is an I-30, the G-35 is my wifes and Im attempting to get her to love the luxury ride of the I-30 but with no luck as yet. Heck, Ive even offered up the Vette and still not a sale on my part.

  • Finally, a better choice than the BMW 3 - 2003 Infiniti G35
    By -

I was all set to get another BMW 3 because my wife & I LOVED that car & no other car seemed to compare. But the 3 was tight on space especially with a baby. The G is larger inside than a BMW 5. It also bests the 330i in HP & performance. To BMWs credit their inline 6 is the smoothest 6 around. & I still dont know how theyre able to combine great handling & ride. No one does suspensions better than BMW, but the G came mighty close. Add the standard features & for once a desirable premium package w/o alot of unwanted features (Im not spending extra for cosmetic wood). My old BMW was feeling like a stripper after I got my G.

I was in the market to buy a car and couldnt decide what to get. So many choices, so little time to try them all. The minute I saw this car and took a test drive I was sold. Love it! And all my friends, especially the guys are jealous of my new ride.

  • Love my new car! - 2002 Infiniti I35
    By -

I searched Acura,Lexus,Lincoln,Audi, and Volvo and was disappointed. Only this car had all the "toys" I was looking for and enough luxury to smooth out New England roads without losing the feel of the road. I have driven up icy hills with no problem, the heated seats are loved by all my passengers, and I want to drive all the time ! It rides well, very solid feel. Lots of spunky horses under the hood takes some getting used to, but I LOVE DRIVING THIS CAR !!

  • No Mas - 2003 Infiniti QX4
    By -

Just picked up my 4WD 03 Silver QX4. Being its the last model year- bargained hard and got a great deal. Compared this with other SUVs in the $35+ range, best bang for the buck! Narrowed it down with the Acura MDX, the QX4 gives you the things to make the $30K plus purchase worth it; one touch power open/shut Sunroof, same with front driver AND PASSENGER Windows, 6 disc in-dash CD changer and Xenon headlights! The things you dont even get with a base MDX and some still left off with the Touring version (were talking $38K and no discounts). The drive feels solid and smooth, very comfy for a truck based SUV. So far, everyting has been a real treat.

  • G25 Sedan: a devil in disguise? - 2011 Infiniti G Sedan
    By -

I bought my G25 sedan almost a year ago with 26k. Within a week, had to take it to the dealer for condensation in one of the headlights. The dealer replaced it, covered under warranty. Now just within the past month, Ive had to bring it back to the dealer twice. Once for the chrome trim peeling on the center console lid and then again for a rattle in the dash/ rattle in front passenger door and broken cupholder. Once again, the dealer did all work covered under warranty. Normally I would be just disgusted with a car that gave me these build quality issues, but for some reason I seem to fall in love with my G all over again every time I get it back from being in the new Q50 service loaner!!
