Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

I test drove the Porsche 911, BMW 335 & M Roadster, S2000, Corvette and decided on the G. I have the Blue Slate w/every option except 4wheel steering. Ive had the car for four weeks and I dont regret a thing. The power is on point, the electronic gismos are easy to operation, handling is responsive. I havent opened her up because of the required break in period of 1200 miles. Im at 800 now. Pound for pound, you cant go wrong. This is my first Infiniti product and Im loving every minute. A word of caution. On model produced after July 07, you lose some of the voice features such as telling the car what temp to change to and what radio station. Other that than you will be pleased

  • Fast & cheap - 2003 Infiniti M45

This car is the best buy in its class. The features would cost 10k more on BMW, Lexus and Mercedes.

  • Best SUV for under 32k - 2003 Infiniti QX4
    By -

Sweeet SUV! I think I test drove every SUV in the 28-35K range. This was far by the best! Great handling and performace. Plenty of pickup and very little sway. Tight cornering. Smooth ride compared to its competition. (it was smoother than the g35 sport). Definitely worth the upgrade from a Pathfinder just for the classy front grill alone. The wood grain, Std Bose, 3 spoke rims, customer service, better warrany are all more plusses which add to this cars value No other SUV comes close at this price.

  • I30 I like it! - 2000 Infiniti I30

This was my first step up to this class of car. I have never been much of a performance buff, preferring comfort of ride. I wanted a Pontiac Grand Prix, but couldnt stomach the reliability ratings, so a friend pointed me towards the Japanese luxury cars. I found a great deal used and I love it. It has a great ride, and I just have to step on the gas once in a while to feel the power. Engine is sooo smooth, and the braking feels very solid. I just love the luxury/performance combination.

  • Great Truck - 2004 Infiniti QX56
    By -

I purchased an 04 Infiniti QX56 with about 60K miles on it. After driving it for about 25K miles, I am still very pleased with the truck. I was initially concerned about the brakes after reading some of the early reviews, but that hasnt been an issue for me. Ive havent had a single mechanical problem. I would gladly purchase again.

Buy it , The best value , quality , reliability .

  • Glad I stuck with my first choice - 2003 Infiniti G35
    By -

This is an outstanding car. The performance is a delight, the interior supremely comfortable, and the quality high. BMW may be "the ultimate driving machine", but in my opinion (having driven a 530i) is not worth another $15,000.
