Overview & Reviews
Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.
The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.
As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.
Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.
Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

Superb Vehicle - 2004 Infiniti QX56
By MaineGuy - July 7 - 10:00 amDid extensive research. Test drove(literally)all of the competition. None compared to this outstanding ride. My wife gave her approval(this is the most significant test that any vehicle must pass!!). Stable, smooth, powerful. The sales staff at Austin Infiniti was by far the best Ive ever dealt with. This SUV has it all. Leg and head room (Im 6 6") are the best. Comfort is second to none. The stereo is crisp, clear and top of the line(the review that claims its "a letdown" is way off base). This is a 5,600 lb. vehicle. Do you really think that it would get 25 mpg? Were getting almost 16mpg. Thats outstanding! Looking forward to the M Class for my wife!!

This Great buy - 2004 Infiniti G35
By James Mark - July 7 - 10:00 amMy brand new 2 day old Infiniti G35 is the best car I have ever owned. It handles like a dream better then the BMW 325XI. The Infiniti takes the bumbs better then any car. This car gets an avarage of 20 miles to a gallon on gas. The car takes the bumbs as well as a Honda or Toyota or even an Linclon but not as well as a BMW or a Subaru. The Infiniti G35 is a winner and has the best features.

G37 and the iPod - 2009 Infiniti G37
By another_G37_owner - July 7 - 12:03 amThe iPod does indeed recharge while driving the car. Or else Ive been able to drive over 8,000 miles on a single charge since last February. And, yes, this is one fabulous car. My mpg has been over 23 for summer driving, part highway and part local.

Super Car For A Great Price - 2003 Infiniti I35
By RickyL - July 4 - 2:00 amI enjoyed the power, the ride quality and the handling on this well designed vehicle. It has a decent size for a family car but still you can enjoy the fun of a sports car performance. Both interior and exterior designs are excellent.

G35 Sport Sedan - 2003 Infiniti G35
By jcv - July 4 - 2:00 amThe car was delivered in perfect condition and is a blast to drive. Im coming from a BMW 1997 M3, handling is different but equivalent or better- performance about equal with more usable torque. MUCH better than 330i, overall performance and handling at least equal, MUCH better value and dealers. Dont let Edmunds reviews put you off, the editors are impressed by badge engineering, dont use their own cash and dont look at their own consumer ratings for competitive cars. Give the car a look for this segment before you buy.

Love it. Wish they still made it. - 2002 Infiniti QX4
By manley - July 2 - 10:00 amI went from a Pathfinder to the QX4, and have no regrets. While it always had the reputation as a "rebadged" Pathfinder, I can tell you its leaps and bounds beyond. Ive never had one problem with this vehicle. The auto 4WD was a life saver when I lived up north. Ive always felt secure in this vehicle. Plus, it has a great look. Its not another over-sized SUV monstrocity. And I cant stress enough the dealer experience at Infiniti. Always courteous, professional and respectful of my time and requests, from the buying process, to service, to looking at a new Infiniti. The most undervalued luxury brand in America.
