Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Im still in awe - 2004 Infiniti G35

I have owned my car for almost 18 months now and I am still in love with it. For the first time ever I dont have car envy wishing I had bought something different/better. The car is a dream to drive and even though Im borrowing from a SAAB commercial, when I am in my G35 there is a direct connection between my right foot and a smile.

I love this car. I have had 5 Infinitis now, including this one. They have been a 1992 Q45, (2) 1998 I30t models (one got totaled) and a 2001 I30t. My 2004 G35 Sport is the best yet. Even though I did not go with the Premium pkg, The car still is very well equipped and has everything that I need. I even added the optional Satellite radio---definately worth it. This car handles like it is on rails and has excellent performance. I have had absolutely no problems with it and have recommended it to many people.

Ordered this lovely vehicle in July; didnt take ownership until late September, but can honestly say its the finest automobile I have ever driven and/or owned! Superb handling, awesome control, amazing acceleration, but mostly, without a doubt the most beautiful vehicle around! And, there is one more facet that no one else discusses: the G-35 Coupe has an acceptable rear seat that my 99 year old father (literally!) can climb in and out of easily!!! Thanks Infiniti! You did it this time!

  • 3rd Infiniti Ive owned - 2004 Infiniti G35

I have driven the I30T for 4 years, the QX4 for 4 years and now the G35, I love this car, a lot of people said Id hate a car after the QX4 I love it, the ride is incredible, the car is very comfortable and the acceleration is priceless. Being from the north I have been very pleased with the way the G35 handles in the snow and ice. Would not want to be driving anything else.

Most fun to drive out of all I looked at. TT, 330Ci, A4 Quattro 6 -- the 6MT and Brembos rock. Wish it had the Harmon Kardon of my old 3, but the Navi from Infiniti is the best! This thing is SQUIRRELY in snow! Park it.

  • "Whats not to love" - 2005 Infiniti G35

If youre looking for the best "Sports Sedan" under $35K, its the G35X. Thats right, get every option except the navigation and youre looking at a great deal. An intelligent all wheel drive system, comfortable interior, power galore, excellent handling, what more could you want. Youd have to spend $10K-$15K more to get the same options in a BMW. The G35X has 280HP,put your foot down and this thing moves. It feels safe, tight handling, great breaking, throaty growl notes from the exaust screams sports car! Interior is roomy & comfortable, the rear seats recline! I read some negative reviews about the interior, calling it cheap. Have you seen the cup holders on the BMW? Judge for yourself.

  • QUALITY COUNTS - 2001 Infiniti QX4

THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN PURE ENJOYMENT!! THE RIDE IS LUXURIOUS AND LONG RIDES ARE NOT FATIGUE PRODUCING.THE DEALER HAS BEEN FABULOUS TO DO BUSINESS WITH.

  • Best Value In Its Class - 2003 Infiniti G35
    By -

Like most reviewers, we looked at Lexus, Acura,BMW, Audi but immediately fell in love with the G35s styling when we saw it up close. Ive owned a 911 and we get similar looks going down the highway. Looks is just the beginning though! This car STREAMS power with the 260hp 3.5 engine. Really smooth shifting, (seamless). Stomp on it and it literally will set you back in your seat. Interior & trunk space is best in its class too! So much more value for the money than comparable that Im wondering if they will end up raising the price in the next model year?
