Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Not one regret - 2008 Infiniti G35
    By -

Bought the G35x last month and absolutely love it. Smooth ride, all the bells and whistles, and the power under the hood still surprises me. Not the greatest gas mileage, but comparable to most competitors. Looked at the BMW 335i and the Lexus IS 350 and I have no regrets about choosing the Infiniti.

  • Infiniti has a winner! - 2008 Infiniti G37
    By -

After driving a Nissan 350-Z for the past couple of years, it was time for a more comfortable daily driver. Since, I love my Z so much, it only made sense to look at an Infiniti G- 37. I went with the G-37S with the Premium and Sports packages. I love the Bluetooth connection and stereo system. I opted not to get the back up camera and Navigation as Ive lived just fine for years without them. I also looked at Lexus, Mercedes and BMW, but I liked the G-37 the most. After the 350-Z, good handling was a must as was peppiness. I expect a car to go when I step on it and this car does not disappoint! It is a fun, responsive car to drive and I love it. I have not regretted purchasing it!

  • Best Luxury SUV Value- Outstanding - 2010 Infiniti QX56
    By -

I have only had this vehicle for 3 months and 6000 miles but I am very happy with my purchase. The ride is smooth and quiet, seats are very supportive and comfortable, plenty of room and cargo space, and the kids love it as well. Engine is smooth and powerful. Some body lean is noticed in tight turns but its not a sports sedan. Our gas mileage, ave about 15 mpg, is about what you would expect from a large SUV. Loaded with tech features. Considering the terrific incentives and compared to the other SUVs I test drove and considered prior to making purchase (Cadillac Escalade, MB GL, Lincoln Nav) the QX56 was an easy choice. It is easily the best value luxury SUV available right now.

  • Most Handsome Sports Coupe on the Road - 2008 Infiniti G37

The G37s is drop dead gorgeous and a blast to drive. Handling and acceleration are excellent. I compare the acceleration and handling of the G37 (manual trans) favorably to other cars Ive owned in the past (a Mustang GT 06 and BMW 528i 01, both with manual trans). The G37 comes with all the comfort features and amenities you could possibly want in a luxury coupe, for a third of the price of comparable cars. This car is a keeper for years to come and is destined to become a classic.

  • Best Purchase Ever For Me - 2003 Infiniti G35
    By -

I pretty much have all of the options except the Chrome Wheels. I find that I get get a lot of compliments on my Red car. The inside is very comfortable and I am happy that there is just enough space for luggage, which is why I chose not to get the 350Z. Regardless, all that matters is what I think about the car and I feel like for the money, I could not have made a better choice.

  • I Love This Car! - 2004 Infiniti G35
    By -

When I bought the car 6 months ago it only had 28000 miles on it and was still under warranty. I had originally been looking at 05 Acura TL, but once I test drove this car, I had to have it. My G35x handles, accelerates, brakes, and handles, great. The leather interior and Bose sound system are sufficiently luxurious. The vehicle also gets a respectable 28 mpg highway in Western PA where no roads are flat or straight. The unique styling of the Infiniti is a head turner. Im constantly getting compliments on the vehicle.

  • What a ride!!! - 2008 Infiniti G35

I love this car! Drove BMW, Lexus, Cadillac this beat them all hands down. A great value. This car handles so great I never thought I would enjoy my daily commute. I have never had so many people tell me they love my car. Have to drive one to truly apperciate how great this car is.

  • 2007 G-35 Sport w/Prem and Nav - 2007 Infiniti G35
    By -

Bought a G-35S over a BMW 335i. The price difference was just too much to swallow. No regrets after two weeks. Lots of power, nice AT (not as nice as the 335 but still good). Lots of tech in the cabin for gadget people. The Infiniti Nav is awesome. Car handles and drives as good as any 3 series (yes, I mean that).

  • G35 For Real! - 2004 Infiniti G35
    By -

I have had the car for about a month now and absolutly love it. It is a powerful machine. Almost too powerful to have in an automatic. The sound system is great and the navigation is easy to use. The only real problem is the brakes. They squeak. Usually, when you spend good money on a luxary car the brakes dont squaek. Not with this one. All in all who cars about the brake noise when the car is super fun to drive.

  • Very good car - 2004 Infiniti G35
    By -

After just about a year of ownership, Im very happy with my G. This car is perfectly balanced for me. When you want to drive hard and have some fun its great. At the same time it handles my crappy commute with no problem. The price was right too. I still like the exterior, it hasnt gotten dull on me yet. The interior is fine by me. The engine and brakes still surprise me at how powerful they are. No issues with the car, and I expect it to stay that way.
