Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

Wanted one for 2 years, finally bought one. Test driving doesnt compare to taking it home. Its burst out of the light with everyone else left in the dust. Its so much fun to drive. Sounds fantastic, feels like a true GT sports car. Exceeded my expectations of this car by far. On another note. Dealer was fantastic. Kudos to Infinity of Columbus for their excellent customer service and sales staff. Very well treated.

Solid performer, good balance of power and handling. Fun to drive. Only concern is some low level road noise and flat "spot" tire sound when cold.

  • Two time owner of the G-20t - 2001 Infiniti G20

This is my second Infiniti G-20. Ive had my 2001 G-20t for 13 months now, and have experienced the same driving pleasure as with my 1994 that I put 160K miles on. A 5 spd manual is a must due to the 150HP 4 cylinder engine. Pick-up from a dead stop isnt fantastic to due the 150HP 4 cyl, but the G-20 loves to be pushed (particularly around the 3500-6000RPM range), and is very fun for the aggressive driver. I average 34/30mpg.

  • Smooth, fast and love it - 2004 Infiniti M45

Super powerful, handles smoothly, very comfortable. We call it the rocket for the super quick smooth acceleration. It is so great on the highway and around town. Has been very reliable.

  • Dream car - 2008 Infiniti G35

I had my eyes on this car since 2007 when it came out. I got my 008 G35x after getting rid of my 2006 Maxima which was great except for the pathetic turning circle. I purchased a pre owned car with 27K on it. Looks and rides like new. This is my dream car. Maybe I have low expectations of a dream car (Lamborghini maybe?) but I am realistic. The car is beautiful on the outside and inside. It is comfortable, quiet, has a killer Bose sound system, and handles fantastic. I had the same engine in my Maxima but you not know it here. The engine makes a sweet growl and has amazing power off the line and consistent through the RPM. Something Infiniti did with the drivetrain and they did it right !!

  • Forget the European Cars - 2007 Infiniti G35

I have owned the BMWs and they do not handle as well, nor have the reliability record, of the Infiniti. The G35 delivers an unbelievable amount of horsepower for the money. The cornering on the car is fantastic with outstanding breaking and acceleration responsiveness. I am truly excited to drive again!!!

  • Great car for the money - 2003 Infiniti I35

I looked at Lexus and BMW and found most of the features I was looking for in the I35. The engine is awesome.

  • This is one great car!! - 2003 Infiniti G35

I bought a new G35 Sedan with Bose, sunroof, sport suspension, and aero package. I am very impressed with its off-the-line performance and excellent handling. It is amazing what rear wheel drive means for handling. My Maxima was fast, but it couldnt hang with the G35s power plus handling.
