Overview & Reviews
Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.
The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.
As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.
Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.
Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

Best used car ever purchased - 2005 Infiniti G35
By Pierre - December 31 - 8:46 pmI purchased a used G35 sedan from a friend going through a divorce and needed to sell his car. Perfect timing for me as by far, this is the best used car I ever purchased. Fun to drive, great handling, performance and it still looks brand new.

Sweet SUV - 2004 Infiniti QX56
By usc_mba - December 31 - 10:00 amI have had my QX56 for about 6 weeks and love it. We tested the Escalade and Navigator as well and this beat them both hands down. The Escalade interior seemed really outdated and had really weak braking. The Navigator interior was nice, but it drove much more like a truck. I personally think the QX styling is awesome - very cool...

All I Expected and More - 2004 Infiniti G35
By Denver Guy - December 31 - 10:00 amSince I used Edmunds to help make a buing decision I wanted to make a contribution. Once the dealership experience was completed (Denver badly needs a second Infiniti dealership; they are so obnoxious at the current one) the vehicle does rock. Most of my driving is on the highway and I am getting 21+ mpg. The 5 speed option on the mountain roads is exhilirating and handling is incredible. I went with the Sirius satellite radio and cannot imagine ever listening to commercial radio again. Only minor complaint which is frequent here are the cupholders are awkward although I cannot figure out a better location. After 11 years of SUVs I am in car heaven.

The Perfect Package - 2004 Infiniti G35
By sweetc230 - December 31 - 10:00 amI loved the styling of this car as soon as it was released and then I drove it and realized that the G coupe may be the best combination of sport and comfort and real world usefulness on the market today. The back seat fits my 1 year olds carseat; the trunk has enough room for my golf clubs; the interior amenities are excellent; and the power is abundant. I have also been very impressed with the manu-matic feature; this is the first automatic I have ever owned and I dont feel like Im missing a thing. No car (in this price range) can put a bigger smile on your face when you fire up this engine. I highly recommend this car.

I love my G35! - 2003 Infiniti G35
By Megan - December 29 - 4:40 pmI bought my car back in June 06 used with 39K on it and now it has 52K on it. I havent had any trouble mechanically on it except for as soon as my warranty expired my CD changer broke, but I hear thats common with all in-dash cd changers. I had to replace every door panel b/c the leather was coming loose, but that was all warranty and the Infiniti dealership had not seen that before.

Lovin it - 2005 Infiniti G35
By MT - December 28 - 9:53 amNo complaints so far! Very fun to drive. I actually cant wait to drive to work every morning. The acceleration is acceptional and with the sport-tuned suspension in the hills, I have to remind myself that its not a race car and to SLOW DOWN! Its been years since Ive driven a sedan and I hadnt realized how good it could be.

My Car - 2002 Infiniti I35
By Suzanne - December 27 - 10:36 amI have been an Infinity owner for 13 years. I have always leased and am now purchasing my I35. My reason for selecting the Infinity I series was safety, reliability, easy maintenance with no problems, ever. On top of all that the car is beautiful inside and out. Its hard to beat for the money.

Buy a G. - 2004 Infiniti G35
By jrlachance - December 25 - 10:00 amSmooth ride with lots of punch available all across the rev range. Stereo upgrade nice but roll down those windows and let in that beautiful exhaust note. Sporty, but not over the top. This is pure adult fun.
