Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

WOW! I just bought this car and it leaves me always wanting to drive it. Performance is just fantastic. It has 75,000 miles and looks great. Interior is black leather and is sharp. You must know how to drive this car because the power can turn on you if your not familiar with rear wheel drive cars. Amazing car and I understand why it is in such high demand!

  • Bad steering 2011 QX56 - 2011 Infiniti QX56

900 miles, 2 trips to service, very, very bad steering, cant seem to fix great interior, nice power vibrations horrible. Wife and I have each had a new vehicle each yr for 30 plus yrs, 5 other infiniti. This one is nice inside and tough to drive on highway because of loose steer, bad shakes, vibration in steering column and floors, very bad paint, has orange Peel all over unit, needs buyback. Service staff nice, infiniti rep Young and has no clue.

  • Garchs i30t - 1998 Infiniti I30

Ive had the i30t for 4 years and I love it. Two warranty items were a smelly sunshade (whale glue) and a poorly charged battery both replaced free of charge. The battery issue was found and corrected during routine maintenance. I get nearly 30mpg highway and 22 city. Id like to get a new infiniti, but I love this one too much!

  • dependable car - 2002 Infiniti G20

I bought this car about seven months ago with 120,000 miles. I had to replace some parts but the car is a good car for the price.

  • Grea Car for the Money - 2003 Infiniti I35
    By -

I have now owned the I35 for over 3 years now. It has been a great car for the money. The car has 255 hp with a smoother ride than DTS. Awesome inside. The inside is layed out very nice and you feel like you are in a $40,000+ car. I paid 28,500 for mine and that included the winter package.

  • So far, so good - 2005 Infiniti G35
    By -

Positives: Great car, overall. Exceptional power and comfort. Good visibility for changing lanes and backing. Various climate and stereo controls take some getting use to but make sense once mastered. My AWD X model is great in snow and the best thing going for slippery roads. The G35 is much more stable in dicey road conditions than my former Audi Quattro. Negatives: Optional mud guards do not prevent stone chips from occuring between the rear wheel wells and rear doors. Paint quality is a bit shabby. Dealer service rep (Elk Grove California) was not at all helpful with respect to addressing a couple of issues that I brought up during the 3,500 mile service.

  • 2nd time buyer - 1999 Infiniti I30
    By -

I have now owned two I30s and neither one has had any problem at all. The first had 95,000 miles when I traded it and this one has 115,000 and is going to be traded soon. What will I buy? I have already decided.. a G35 :) Im an Inifiniti customer until they let me down.

  • put all the ponies in there - 2004 Infiniti G35

smart design and ease of operation very erogomicly designed.this is a homerun for nissan design team.

  • Solid, capable...but not exceptional - 2012 Infiniti FX
    By -

Overall...like it. But, its really behind the times vis-a-vis technology and options. The motor, design, and fit and finish are all excellent. But, that teeny-tiny sunroof. Really? And the nav? Its horrible. I never, ever, ever use it. The ipod interface is horrendous. No cargo cover unless you pay for it? Cheap. Pay $45K+ for a vehicle and not get a cargo cover? Wow. The overall instrument panel is weak - same as in my previous G35. Boring. Zzzzzz. I dont know if the 13 improved these options or not, but I dont think so. Youd think with as great as this vehicle looks and drives that the attention to detail and available options would be better.

  • Alright - 2000 Infiniti I30
    By -

My fiancee and i just purchased this vehicle and i have to say that this was a very wise purchase for the both of us. We are both full time students with a 4 year old daughter, so reliability was our biggest concern. It handles very well and the comfort is mind twisting. My only dislike was that the body style could have been a little bit wider for my liking but it will due for the meantime.
