Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Disappointed in the - 2003 Infiniti G35

Good stuff: braking is incredible, engine performance "wows" you, impeccable safety features, great styling, fantastic reliability, fun to drive. Problems: if you dont need or really want the sport-tuned suspension package, dont get it--it produces a very stiff ride that dont not match the sophisticated elements of this car. The placement of the seat controls is a problem! What I dislike is the discomfort. The seat control panel is made of plastic and is integrated into the seat in such a way that it puts an annoying "hotspot" on my leg.

  • Best car I have ever owned - 2002 Infiniti I35

Thrilled to be an Infinity owner. We bought it for reliability, the heated seats and steering wheel. The Bose sound system with lots of speakers makes driving a pleasure. We hope to keep this car for ten years or 150,000 miles whichever comes first.

  • Well maintained Infiniti I-35, sold in Sept 2016 - 2004 Infiniti I35

Rock solid car, strong, reliable engine, roomy passenger compartment, power and heated everything, and has a rear window shade. Replaced the radiator recently due to cracks. Replaced the struts assemblies. New BF Goodrich Tires only have a few thousand miles wear. Have recently replaced the factory stereo with a new Kenwood (Excelsior model) CD, stereo with all inputs, jacks. All major maintenance performed at Infiniti dealership. Oil always changed every 3,500 miles. Paint is still terrific. A few dings. Interior leather has a few small tears. This is a really good value. Sold the vehicle through CarLotz Auto Consignment in Richmond, VA (West Broad St location) in early September 2016.

  • Comfort and leisure! - 2006 Infiniti G35

The G-35 Coupe is one of the most impressive cars I have ever driven. It handles like a small sports car with the acceleration of a 8 cy. luxury. Long trips are extremely comfortable in the seats and the sat. radio, Bluetooth, and keyless entry system is amazing. This car is the sport luxury youve always dreamed of. Go on, make your daddy jealous!

  • Best SUV Ive ever bought hands down! - 2010 Infiniti QX56

Infiniti qx56 has all that I wanted in one vehicle, looks, ride, power and much more. Sure the gas mileage is low but at least I am safe, my family is safe, I have everything I want in this vehicle. I am hooked...

  • Still buying em - 2003 Infiniti QX4
    By -

Ive owned the 01, 02 and now the 03. $4$ there is no better value out there. The proof is in the fact that it is difficult to even find a low mileage one pre-owned. There is a rumor that Infiniti is in the design stages to bring it back due to customer demand. I will be the first person sleeping on line outside the dealers door to buy it!!

  • This one stands out from the rest - 2006 Infiniti QX56

I didnt know too much about the infinitis. Then, i started seeing commercials, ads, and some around town. I was over the "sporty" suv look. I wanted something classy and different. I looked into the infinity qx56 and i fell in love with it. I loved it so much that i had all the extras that you can imagine put on for me.. 22"Rims, 2 part grill, 3 tvs. I went for it! I get double takes on my car all the time and compliments on it! Infinity of montclair dealership team was great! Thank you for buying my car of my dreams honey! Dr. Michael & emma lawrence

  • Great drive, great comfort - 2004 Infiniti G35
    By -

This car is a kick and a half to drive! Drives better than the A4 I used to have and is almost $10K less. I bought the X AWD version since I did not like the reliability in snow with RWD. Acceleration at 55MPH+ is somewhat sluggish, so I throw it into 3rd using the tiptronic shifter and then it GOES! Just a few very small imporvements and this car would be absolutely perfect!

  • GREAT CAR - 2004 Infiniti G35

I think that this car beats the BMW 3 series which I have had. Its interior design need some improvement but otherwise, one of the best cars I have driven and owned.

  • Beautiful Styling & Craftsmanship - 1999 Infiniti I30

Beautiful styling in that it is not tail heavy. Attractive 2-tone paint & neutral gray interior with lots of comfort gagets.
