Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Problems with this truck - 2004 Infiniti QX56
    By -

The rotors were warped (thin, no good for vehicle wt.) - 3 dealer trips before they replaced it ("manuf. defect") in all - y not issue recall? The steering never returns 2 position, the flaps on the back of 2nd row wont stay anymore (Velcro wore out after 12 mo.), cumbersome mech. 2 fold 2nd row- doesnt always work, lukewarm not heated front seats, very poor quality build, rear door auto lift problem, 2 tires wore out at 24K(cheap), space behind 3rd seat not useful like Expedition., oil change at non-dealer and screen reminder never goes away - tire pressure gauge and hand break fault - dealer had 2 fix - manuf. defect - one tire leaked air from valve, made in Japan, not true luxury vehicle.

  • The Ultimate SUV experiance - 2011 Infiniti QX56

For my family This is by far the Best SUV ever created! And it is still under-priced compared to The lexus counterpart. And we were also excited to know that Nissan will not have a body style similar to this in Northern America.

  • Best Value in Entry-Lux Segment - 2008 Infiniti G35

G35 value beat A4, TL, Accord, BMW 3. Exterior design very seductive, except black patches in front air dam. Keyless locks/start button are amazing. Excellent interior design; quality and ergonomics. Driver memory system is awesome. Excellent fit & finish. Accelerator a bit touchy, but wow - love the torque. Handling is amazing. Ipod interface is just OK. Lighting scheme very cool. Tranny lacks refinement, with "thump!" from 2nd to 3rd under hard driving. Add a 6th gear: 70mph runs at 3200 rpms. Getting about 18mpg in mixed driving, 23 hwy at 75mph. This is a performance vehicle. Has room for improvements, but for $10k+/- less than Lexus IS350 or BMW 3, it cant be beat.

  • Best in Price Range - 2003 Infiniti G35

Before I went to Infinity dealer, I test drove BMW 3 Series, Mercedes C 3 series, Lexus IS 300, Nissan Altima, Audi A4, and I just tried the new redesighned Audi A4. Comparing the luxury, comfort, performance, features and price of Infiniti and all above cars, Infiniti gets 10(excellent) rating.

This is my 7th Infinity and I have never had one problem with any of them. I just buy and ride, carefree until my next new Infinity purchase.

  • POW !!!! - 2003 Infiniti G35

Never driven anything like it...absolutely incredible to drive. Only problem that Ive had were interior noises which turned out to be things that were either my fault or fixable.

  • wheeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - 2003 Infiniti G35

This will be my 5th Nissan/Infiniti vehicle and Ive loved every single one of them. First, the engine packs a punch-no longer do I have trouble merging on the on-ramps.Second,its a bargain! It has been compared to Lexus and BMWs and it is at least $6,000 less AND has MORE horsepower than they do.Third, the service is fantastic. Sadly my car was hit 3 days after purchasing the vehicle and I brought it back to the Harte Infiniti body shop and they fix it up good as new in only 3 days time with a busy schedule. They matched the paint perfectly.

  • G35X over the Cadillac CTS-AWD - 2008 Infiniti G35
    By -

It was a really tough task to pick a winner in comparing the G35 to the CTS, but in the end I went with the G35. The things that made the G35 more attractive, and therefore my choice were: backup camera, built-in bluetooth, active cruise control, 4k lower price (with all wanted options).

  • Love this car! - 2005 Infiniti G35
    By -

I LOVE my G. I have had no problems at all with this car and Im nearing 30,000 miles. The seats are very comfy and the car is roomy enough even for my 220 lb, 6-foot-2 husband. It handles well and I drive like a demon. The gas mileage isnt great but Ill take it for the performance. I put 2 MTX 10" subwoofers in the trunk (and an 800 watt amp) a year ago with still not a vibration from anywhere. The things I would change are minor. I get many compliments on my G and would recommend to anyone - for the price I dont think you can beat it.
