Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • My favorite car, period - 2002 Infiniti I35

My I35 Sport is the 1st Infiniti Ive ever owned, and Im thoroughly impressed! I currently have over 160,000 miles on it, and so far, no problems other than the passenger side power seat motor needed replacing. Love all the options: heated steering wheel, mirrors, and all 4 seats, power rear window shade, full-size spare tire, sport suspension, standard 17" wheels, etc., has the most options for the $$$. Would buy another I35 if they were still being offered! Wonderful auto.

  • great value - 2003 Infiniti G35

the G35 is a great value. Superb performance from a wonderful engine & transmission. holds 4 large adults comfortably and is very quiet at highway speeds. our only complaint is the slightly rough ride on bumpy roads, they could improve the suspension.

  • Worth the wait - 2003 Infiniti G35

Once in a very long while a car company gets it all just right. Such is the case with Infiniti and the G35 Coupe. This car is pure magic. It drives like a dream, full of power, road-hugging grip, perfect driver ergonomics (at least for me, a 6 male). The styling is timeless, it will look great 25, 35 years from now just as a 50s t-bird does today. It is impossible to park your G and not walk away from it backwards, admiring its blend of masculine muscle and feminine grace and style. What a winner, place your order today!

Compared with BMW 3 & 5 series, this car is as big and fast for thousands less. You cant go wrong with the styling and features.

Smooth, powerful, V6, gorgeous design, spacious for the driver/passenger (not so much for the backseat passengers), Definite eye catcher and can keep up with anything in its class and even out of its class. Great feeling shifting and comfy seats.

  • Amazing! - 2002 Infiniti I35

Been driving this beauty since 2005, really only had few problems. Once the power steering fuel had to be replaced, another time some minor things. The only concern is that after 100K miles when you see these minor problems, they all add up very fast, for instance it took me $200 to replace the HID headlights. But let me tell you I have done three cross country trips in this car without a trace of discomfort! The leg space is amazing for both front and rear passengers. I havent met anyone who is not impressed with its interiors. Drive feels very secure. Perfect family sedan! Cant imagine to part with it!

  • Easy decision - 2007 Infiniti G35

I did my due diligence before buying my G. I have had a couple of 5 series 5 speeds and just felt that BMW was living of their name more than advancing their car. Test drove the TL 6 speed and did not like the handling or the stereo. Lexus has nothing to offer in the 6 speed (is250?). I test drove the G35 and it was an easy decision. This car has it all - luxury, power, handling, looks, reliability, power, GREAT sound from the premium package and did I say power. I have an I30 5 speed going on 150K miles that I have only put brakes on once. These cars are really made well. This is a no brainer.

  • 01 QX4 - 2003 Infiniti QX4

Almost a perfect SUV. Better than the 4runner! Has perfect size and capablities! If you have one 01 and newer, you know! 97-00 Have no proformance and are real sluggish! Cant imagine why Infiniti discontinued this great SUV. The FX35/45 looks like nothing but a sports minivan!
