Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • CHECK out this site on the new Q! - 2003 Infiniti Q45

If the Q45 had the Mercedes Star on the front and was priced at $90,000, most would think it was the best thing out there. Thats all the car is missing to command a $90,000 price tag. A friend of ours who has had just about every luxury car out there, said, "You must look at this car!" The closest dealership to us was 70 miles away, and thats where we bought it. He wasnt lying. Every Mercedes owner should be required to look at the new Q. If they did, I would love to see their reaction. It was probably like mine, and thats why I own the new Q.

  • Happy I Leased It! - 1999 Infiniti I30

When I was first looking at different cars, my thought was to get a Toyota Avalon. I test drove the Avalon, and liked it. They wanted a lease that wouldcost $599+ per month. I test drove the Infiniti I30 and liked it. The lease was $399 a month, $399 down. I loved it. Now my lease will be up on June 3rd, and Im going to buy my car for a residual of $16,500. I like it that much.

  • Excellent SUV, BUT... - 2008 Infiniti QX56

We just got our new QX. We really liked what we tested drove and ordered one. We are pleased with the car overall. If you want a BIG SUV, this is it. We had a Navigator before. It started falling apart at 48k miles. We looked at and/or drove the Escalade, Yukon Denali, GL 450 and LX 470. For the price and features, you cant beat the QX. What other SUV includes as standard equipment a moonroof, Bluetooth, power fold flat seats, 20 inch chrome wheels, a navigation system, HID lights, a harddrive for music that rips CDs, a rear camera and rear sonar. While others may not care for the looks, I think it has one of the nicest interiors.

  • Best Car Ive Ever Owned - 2004 Infiniti G35

People ask me why I bought an "expensive" car - my answer is that, over 5 years, its probably cost me less than whatever theyre driving. 140K miles, NOTHING to fix. Oil, brakes, tires - thats it. Runs, looks, feels almost like new. Big power, room, a blast to drive. Quality costs less in the long run.

  • The Dream Car - 2006 Infiniti M45

If you ever wanted a car that could do everything, the M45 is the car for you. It comes with every accessory known to man. Its one of those cars that you enjoy getting into every day to go to work or go on an outing. No matter where you go, people will be looking and admiring what you are driving. I have owned in my life time at least 12 vehicles from different makers and I can honestly say, I have found a home with the Infiniti M45.

  • Great all around luxury performer - 2004 Infiniti G35

I absolutely love this car. Very powerful and smooth, comfy ride. Great handling. I get tons of compliments on the looks. I actually like the design of this model better than the g37 coupe thats out now. I really feel that they took away the aggressiveness out of the exterior design and made it more docile looking like the Lexus sc. The exhaust tone puts a smile on my face each time I start the car. The seats are very comfortable and hold you in place well in the twisties (and you will love the twisties) this car really is in a league of its own as far as price goes and what you get for your money.

Excellent, legend in the range. You can feel the power of engine. The ride is so great, you wont mind spending more time on steering. You can get all performance, technology, comfort those 50k and 70k cars offer here in G-35 under 35k

I have been driving the G35x for almost a year now and I cannot get enough of it. I have not had the good fortune of a snow storm (to test the AWD) yet but winter is just starting here in the Washington DC metro area. I recommend this car to anyone considering a BMW 3 series.
