Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • What a fun car!! - 2004 Infiniti M45

My first car in this class and I wanted something reliable, which meant it had to come from Japan. So the choice with this or a Lexus, and I have no complaints. After having the car for almost two years I still say WOW! Fast, smooth, and great options. It took a little wile to learn how the options work...but after you understand they come second nature.

  • The Great Commuter - 1999 Infiniti I30

Has been a great car so far. I needed a commuter car with luxury features and this has proved to be the right choice. Huge truck (for golf clubs), leather, CD, phone, all power, heated seats and it looks good.

  • Hit the Road Jake... - 2003 Infiniti G35

The ultimate in sports sedan driving. This is my first truly sports vehicle and I am totally enthused with my new found love of driving. The G35s response and handling have out performed the previous 12 cars that I have owned. Eight were North American made and four were Japanese. The response from total strangers to its appearance and questions as to how I like my car are a testiment of its overall appeal. Ive always enjoyed driving but now I love it.

  • Circuite board - 2003 Infiniti G35
    By -

We have had 3 infinitis and have been very happy until this G35. The circuit board controlling the AC, heater Stereo, CD etc.will not work. It has been stuck with no stereo CD and AC has been at 64 degrees for the Last 8 months. We have been told it will cost $1500-$2000 to fix it if we are lucky. This seems so outrageous to us. We feel infinite has let us down totally. This should be a recall as the mechanic said many cars of this model have come in for the same problem. We are VERY disappointed in infiniti and would never buy another if this is the way they stand behind their clients. So sorry.

  • Why didnt I do it sooner ! ! - 2006 Infiniti G35

I finally gave myself permission to go for the car of my dreams. It almost makes me want to go to work in the morning just so I can drive my new car.

  • Very Satisfied - 2004 Infiniti I35
    By -

Great looks with the optional spoiler. Get a combined 23.5 Hwy/City driving. Never any trouble with the car. Engine is fast and quiet. Only drawback is large turning radius. Have had many nice comments on the car. Would buy another Infiniti!

  • Passenger air bags are part time - 2013 Infiniti JX
    By -

I was told to move to move around in the seat by the dealer. In 20 miles the light did not go off until we stopped the car and restarted it. Is Infiniti waiting for a class action law suit? Beware of this problem your sales rep wont tell you.

  • Fantastic and Spacious SUV - 2016 Infiniti QX60
    By -

After owning it for about 3 months, were loving the QX60! It has plenty of space for a family or cargo. The drive is super smooth and the seating is very comfortable. I would highly recommend this SUV for anyone looking for a luxury family car.
