Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • From Z to G35 coupe - 2003 Infiniti G35
    By -

I purchased a 350z in April of 2003. I drove the car for about 4 months before I started to kick myself for not test driving the G35 before making my purchase. Long story short and after much deliberating I decided to trade it in for a black, manual, G35 coupe. Aside from the money I lost, I couldnt have made a better decision. From the stereo system to the ride quality to the fit and finish everything is better in the G35 coupe. I admit they are different cars in a different class, but performance is very similar. Bottom line is I suggest checking out the G35 before buying the Z. It is a great car for the money. I can’t help but compare the two because of my personal experience.

  • One very sweet car! - 2004 Infiniti G35

Test drove a BMW 330Ci, G35 has far better styling and a Lexus IS300, not enough power and no 2 door option. My G35 is by far the best car I have ever owned. Great performance, handling, eye catching styling, and all the luxury goodies youd exspect. Drive this car, it will speak for itself. Its one very sweet ride! Highly recommended for the bucks!

  • Excellant - 2004 Infiniti G35

This car is alot of fun. From driving it to just sitting parked in it. It turns more heads than my Cadillac Seville STS does. It is like playing a video game that you really enjoy. While the interior is a little tight it is still very comfortable. Get the navigation system it is worth the extra money for people who drive alot.

  • g35 coupe..porshe look wthout $$$$$$$ - 2004 Infiniti G35
    By -

I studied this car for 2 years then I finally purchased the 2004 coupe in 7/06. I have the diamond graphite auto wt tiptronic. fully loaded also aero pkg (spoiler) and perfomance pkg(larger wheels ect.. I am happier every day that I decided to purchase this car. On the practical side, this car retains its value better tha most.I waited for the 03-05 to drop in price when the 06s came out but they did not drop more than 1500 at most for the older models. not great when your buying used but once you own one its great to have a car that does not lose its value overnight! also you dont see yourself driving all over town like you would with the bmws. Fun, reliable, unique, beautiful and a lot for $$$

  • Incredible and Safe - 2006 Infiniti G35
    By -

I recently purchased my second G35 Sedan - a new 2006 automatic. I didnt even look at anything else because I feel thankful to have been so well protected when I recently totaled my 2004 G35 Sedan. After being hit broadside into the drivers door, resulting in bending the entire car, crumpling the drivers seat, bending the tunnel, etc., I walked from the accident unhurt. The side air curtains as well as the basic design of the car totally protected me. Had I had passengers in the rear seat, they, too, would have been well protected by the full length side air curtains. The performance of the G35 is excellent. And the appearance inside and out is great. I am completely sold.

  • Satisfied - 2002 Infiniti I35

I am very satisfied with my recent purchase. The ride is smooth and the comfort level is high. I compared the Infiniti to the Lexus ES300 and Acura TL/S-Type. The Lexus was way over priced. Acura and Infiniti were similarly priced, but Infinitis warranty is superior and loaner car program will be handy. There is plenty of power, both starting and passing... the car looks classy and can fly.

  • Best Car Ive Ever Owned - 2003 Infiniti G35
    By -

I bought this car when they first came out in April, 2002. It was love at first sight and has continued for 3 1/2 years. Comfort, handling, speed, joy of driving describe this car. I still get compliments on its looks and raves about the comfort of the adjustable back seat. Have only had brake job once and still have original tires, so dont understand the brake, tire problems some are having. The car has been mechanically sound and Infiniti service is great. Get 20 mpg in town, 30 on the road. Not bad for this type of car. Love this car and when the time comes to replace, will buy another Infiniti.

  • Love this car - 2001 Infiniti I30

Just picked it up. Great car from day 1. Learning to appreciate it more and more every day. Looks fabulous, great performer, comfortable interior. Althought the suspension is stiffer on the ts the ride is harsh sometimes over the littles bumps you feel it in the cabin. This car is made well, great looking, and will get many years of pleasure driving it.

  • best SUV for the money - 2007 Infiniti QX56

A lot of thought went into this SUV. Its luxury and usability all in one. Drives like a car.. smooth and quiet.

  • most bang for the buck - 2002 Infiniti I35
    By -

Like most of you, Im a car freak. I researched & drove the usual suspects (BMW, Audi, Acura, VW, Lexus, Saab) heavily. BMW & Audi isnt worth the price. Saab scares me being run by GM. That left me with TL-S & I35. TL- S is slightly better, but I35 makes an offer you simply cant refuse. I look forward to 10 years of worry-free ownership. Bottom line: most car for your money, hands down.
