Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

I have really enjoyed driving this car. It has super torque and all around power.

  • Pretty car - 2002 Infiniti G20

This is a really nice little model from Infiniti. The model is now at is end but it worth the price. The engine is kind of weak but all the other feature make this car a really special one. Also fun to modify.

  • Accelerating my future - 2003 Infiniti G35

I too looked at BMW, Caddy CTS, and owned an Acura TL. This car blows them all away in performance and looks. This is by far, the most fun Ive had with a car. The power is fantastic (I would have bought a 6 speed if avail. but the manual shift is great too). Everything about this car is top notch!

  • Not Best in Class - 2003 Infiniti G35
    By -

I test drove all the cars in this class extensively, and the G35 is not the leader in my opinion. Yes its fast, but the handling isnt the greatest and it was not very fun to drive. The BMW 330 is the best overall car.

  • Love the look. Hate the car - 2017 Infiniti QX70
    By -

Ride is stiff. rattles my dentures. No room in the rear. Im a big guy so this has made my car a three seater. Not enough space between brake and accelerator. my foot often is partially on both which is a hazard waiting to happen. The gas mileage sucks. Im only getting 10 mpg. Well below the advertised amount. This was my dream car since the FX35 first came out. My dream has turned into a nightmare.

  • M45 Sport - The True Positive & Negative - 2006 Infiniti M45
    By -

Positives: 335 HP V-8 engine is superior to all others, very smooth & powerful. Seats are very comfortable for long drives, ventilated, lumbar. Voice commands,Bluetooth,NAV,Bose Studio 14 spkr DVD audio & technology features superior. Reliable electronics (Japan),100% Japan parts content & assembly. Awesome tech & features for price point. Negatives: Headliner "clicks",intermittent rattles, road feel & handling feedback compared to new BMW 5 Series is poor, wheel balance on front right was way off. Quirky steering wheel movement on freeways requires continuous tiny hand inputs probably due to 19" tires and sport suspension setup(too tight)After 3000 mi.& 3 months sold car to CARMAX for $48,000.

  • I35 - 2004 Infiniti I35
    By -

My I35 is spectacular. It is very powerful, luxurious, full-featured and the best buy out there! This car is definitely a bull in sheeps clothing - conservative styling with a very powerful engine! I highly recommend the I35 for those looking for a luxurious sports sedan.

  • Awesome Vehicle - 2004 Infiniti G35
    By -

I have had this car for 6 months now and I have to say it is the best purchase that I have ever made. I test drove the Nissan 350Z and there is no comparison.. The G35 Infiniti is the elite of Luxury sports cars. I would recommend this vehicle to everyone.

  • Great Car! - 2004 Infiniti G35

Great details and great value for the money! Its fun to drive for work and pleasure!

  • 300Z Reincarnated - 2004 Infiniti G35
    By -

What a thrill to drive. It is truly a sports car with excellent handling and road hugging beyond belief. It doesnt provide the comfort of my previous Q45 but since it is a sports car, I didnt really think that it would. Be careful because if is really quiet and has pick up beyond belief. No wonder they like this engine in the IRL.
