Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

Just hit the 60k mark and loving it. I bought the car 6 months ago with 52k. As this is my first car, I didnt think I would be able to afford this nice of a car. The only problems I have had with the car are: the power antenna, and the stock rims being bent. 2 months after the purchase of the car, I blew a tire on the highway because of the rims. Replaced the rims and tires with more sporty ones and everything was good. About a week ago, my ABS light came on and my rear breaks locked up. I took it to the mechanic and had to replace the calipers, and break pads. The exhaust needs to be replaced, but I am holding off until after winter. The only thing the car needs is a bracket for the muffler

I wont be driving this car If I relied solely on the reviews. One month and 1500 miles into the ownership, there is not one thing bad I can say about this car. MPG never gotten below 22 for me(13,15 at best ? wonder if those guys were in the right forum). Accelaration is fine and very refined, smooth. Went on a buddies trip second day I got the car; 4 golf bags with luggages, 2.5 hours one way overnight trip, no problem. I did not even get to take the wheel but for about 15 minutes ! Love it.

Definitely is totally different to drive a Hybrid car, you will feel in the pedal, but when you want power, you have 360hp right in there, it is super fast car, very economical, you get 32 miles per gallon easy, it is a luxury nice experience, just got it a week ago, I will recommend, specially with all the incentives and some free tolls for having a hybrid car, nothing to lose, worth to try

Now Infiniti had to buy the vehicle back under Lemon Law. I would avoid Infiniti and Nissan products and if you are in Pittsburgh PA I would completely avoid the scam artists at Cochran. I bought an Audi after selling back the Infiniti and could not be happier with a vehicle. I have only had this vehicle for 6 months and have had more than enough problems. There is a rattle in the front dash drivers side, but I am guessing loose or missing clips, which the dealershiponly took 2 months to correct. City driving on standard mode is about 3 - 4 mpg less than sticker. I do drive conservative so do not expect to get much better than that. The seats are loose fitting for the body to sit in and dont hold you like other vehicles I have had. They do not feel like they were built for anyone over 5 10". The one item I did forget to mention is the camera system, I think they could have used better, higher resolution cameras. Any problems I am really finding the dealership is writing it off to "well thats the way its designed" This is a manufacturer I will not honor with another purchase and Nissan the mother company has the same problems as Infiniti.

  • Strictly OK - 2005 Infiniti G35

Loved this car for the first few months, but then the noises started. Replaced all the window tracks in the doors at 19k, rattle in the A-pillar started soon after and still persists (I drive 80 miles a day, so pretty obnoxious). Brakes have squealed the entire time Ive had the car, despite replacing the front and rear pads and front rotors. I also had to take electrical tape to the electronic rear view mirror to keep it from rattling. Of course, the dealer cannot diagnose any of these problems (and I would have to pay for them to do so as rattles arent covered under warranty). Frankly I would rather have a german car with lots of mechanical problems that they can at least be diagnosed.

Very easy to drive at a high pace. Nose is UUUgly. Like (no, love) the rest!! Just bought one for my wife at $2500 under invoice and 1.9%, cant beat that with a stick. MY wife is no lead foot but the 3x Ive been on the highway with her shes cruising in the 80s and quite unawares.Fit and finish impeccable. Interior materials equal or better the competitors(excepting Lexus)

  • Great Car! - 2003 Infiniti G35

I have had many cars previously, including Toyota, Lexus, Mercedes- Benz, but my Infiniti G35 is by far my favorite out of the bunch! It has outstanding power and it rides great! Handles the road very well at 110 mph!!

Great styling and comfort. For smaller car turn radius sucks, definitely sub- par. Underpowered.
