Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • WOW - 2003 Infiniti G35

I think I test drove every single sport sedan in the market, and I kept coming back to the infiniti and the Lexus is300. However, as I am not 18 years old the Lexus just did not fit. I have never been more happy with a car. It accelerates like a dream and you never lose one once of control! The steering is tight and comfortable, the seats feel like your sitting in a Lay-Z-Boy. and the instruments and toys are very accessable. This car rides as well going 10mph in traffic ( I live in Chicago, so I get this a lot ) as it does going 80 down the Edens. All in all, I would be very suprised if some one test drove this car and bought another.

  • Great Car / Little Annoyances - 2003 Infiniti M45
    By -

I bought this car used, Have had it one year now and love the car. Its a great car, but has these little annoyances that frustrate me to death. 1. Oil consumption. Have never owned a car that I have to put so much oil in (50,000 miles on it). 2. Glove box droops down, very annoying. 3. Trunk never opens enough so that auto shut doesnt catch it and close it again. What a pain!

  • G35x fun! - 2008 Infiniti G35
    By -

I on my second G35X. When my lease was expiring on my 2006 G35x, I started experiencing seperation anxiety. I looked in the marketplace, but could not find any other alternative that made me feel as good. There is no better feeling than walking towards my car, knowing how much fun Im about to experience when the seats adjust to my preset position and I hit the ignition button. Handling on the X is as good as any sports car Ive ever driven in. Its scary-fast, particularly when clearer with Bose technology

our 3rd infiniti, traded in qx4 which we had for 8 years. great design where 2nd row has bench seats for access to 3rd row. even w 3rd row up enough room for a stroller. handles n drives nicely average about 14 mpg in mixed driving. our friends just got a 2007 after seeing ours. we test drove lots of suvs before finding this. my wife loves it so far. owned for 9 months.

  • G35 w navi - 2008 Infiniti G35

I got the 2008 G35 Journey with the tire and wheel package, premium package and navigation package. It is a great looking car inside and out. Acceleration and handling are impressive. The exhaust sounds great. Fuel economy could be better. The navigation is fairly easy to use and comes with all sorts of added technological goodies. A lot of bang for the buck.

I love this truck, but must always keep in mind that it is a truck. So dont compare to a car, a lot of reviewers do that. at speed, It needs some more refinement lots of noise like a window is open.

  • Best Priced High Performance/Luxory Car - 2002 Infiniti I35
    By -

I just love this car. From NYC Ive driven it to Cleveland (RR Hall of Fame) and Myrtle Beach. Long drives with nothing but enjoyment because of the I35. You can not get a better high performance/luxury car for the money. Lexus ES300 is overpriced and underpowered. Acura TL Type S just doesnt have the same luxurious interior look or feel.

I had to give up my 300zx Convertible to get this car, but it was well worth it. The handling, performance and ride of this car is amazing. It is the best car I have ever driven and Ive driven them all.
