Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • parking brake pedal ??? - Ill pass - 2003 Infiniti G35

Excellent performance and brakes, very good handling. A couple of annoying interior details which prevented me from buying it. First and ugliest is the parking brake pedal. Who puts those things in a sport sedan? In the cars cockpit like cabin the pedal really sticks out and can hit you leg when you move it. or during an even minor accident (so much for eight airbags). The second is the placement for drivers seat controls. They are right next to the cup holders, I think its similar to putting your coffee mug on your keyboard. The cars trunk is big but badly shaped, I dont think you can fit more then two mid size suitcases there. Those bugs aside its an excellent car.

This car really turns heads! I cant believe how many people I have caught just staring at this car when it is driving down the road as well as when it is parked. This car is great in the twisted canyon roads that I frequently travel on. It is also very easy to allow yourself to cruise well above the posted speed limits if you are not careful, ( i.e. an open hwy with no traffic , 140mph , very stable and surprisingly quiet ) The Infiniti G35 is an excellent balance of performance, beautiful design and more importantly the cost for what you are getting overall.

If you are vain like I am and would appreciate people coming up to you and saying how nice of a car you have, the G35 Coupe is the answer. On a more serious note, 7 Months & 5,500 miles of ownership. Happy to report no service issues or problems, only maintenance required so far has been an oil change. Please do not let the stylish looks fool you, the G35 Coupe is a sports car in almost every sense of the word. Acceleration and handling are superb, feedback to the driver, excellent. Before purchaing the G35 I test drove the Audi TT & BMW 325. They were nice cars but could not match the G35 in acceleration & overall driving performance. An unexpected bonus, the G35 costed less.

  • Most bang for your buck! - 2008 Infiniti G37

This car has turned heads from day one. I am often with people who drive vehicles 2 or 3 times more expensive and still they constantly comment on how beautiful it is. Great power, perfect styling, and incredible luxury for the price. Only complaint is if you are over 6 ft (I am 62") you may have to lean the seat back a bit as to not make contact with the roof. Even with that said never once have I in the 3 months Ive driven it have I been less than thrilled with my purchase.

$29,000.00 out the door. Drives like its on rails. Faster than my corvette was and handles better too at half the price. Also has a great warranty and comfort to boot, with the fuel economy of a Honda accord. Whats not too like!

  • Fun Car - 2006 Infiniti G35

I have had my G35 for 3 months and the fun of driving hasnt decreased even a fraction. In fact, the more I drive it, the more fun it has become. It handles great and has incredible power and acceleration. As expected, the only draw back is the fuel economy. Depending on how I drive it ranges from 13 mpg to 24 mpg. Generally, I get about 15 to 17 mpg, so no real complaints. Overall a great car well worth the price!

I have had this car for a month now. After doing extensive research and attending a car show, I made the decision to go with the G35. It is clearly the best car for the money. The engine is incredible and has the handling to go along with it. I love the AWD feature as well as the design. Plenty of room for 4, which you dont realize by looking at it from the outside. The only down side is the fuel economy in the city is nowhere near what its supposed to be. I have gotten 16mi/gl. Also they could have had more wood paneling on the dash area. Overall I would highly recommend the G35 sedan.

I have to say that I still have the same grin on my face as the day I bought the car. I have never driven a sedan that handles this well. I like to drive aggressively on mountain roads and the M is willing partner. Passengers are blown away by the technology, GPS, bluetooth, self adjusting cruise, lane departure warning I could go on and on. I have yet to have any problems with the car, just oil change. Did I mention the Bose 14 speaker sound! This car is tight! 12 hour drives are piece of cake!

I love it! It is a sharp vehicle. I have the sport suspension package in Garnet Fire. I feel like I own the roads I travel. People have asked me what kind a car is it. Drives like it was made especially for me.

Ive only owned the car for just over a month, but couldnt be happier. I got the all-wheel drive. I took it out one night on a winding back road in a heavy thunderstorm and put it through the paces. It corners like its on rails. No looseness in the rear whatsoever. Impressive performance.
