Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • New and lovin it... - 2004 Infiniti G35

For a while, I struggled btw a BMW and MB sedan. As for coupes...I always liked the Nissan Z but it was TOO sporty...Reminded me of a rich kids car that daddy would buy. When I saw the G35 sport coupe it had the distinguished look the Z lacked and it simply looked great. So I bought it. The Navi and Sat helped too...

I have owned two BMW 3-series and loved the quality of handling and the glass-smooth engines , but tired of the nuisance problems requiring service. My G-35 coupe feels tighter and more powerful than the BMWs and is definitely a head-turner as far as exterior styling. It is a fun driving experience for someone like me who isnt ready to throw in the towel and drive my "grandfathers bouncy sedan". If you think that a cars sole purpose is to get you from point A to point B, this isnt for you. However, if you want a car than can get you where youre going and let you have fun getting there, this is it.

  • Best Bang for Buck Sport Sedan - 2009 Infiniti G37

The more I drive my G37S Sedan, the more I love it. In my opinion, it blows the Mercedes C-Class away, destroys the Audi A4, and is $10,000 less than the BMW 335i comparably equipped. That said, it is a great combination of utility and performance. The G37 is fast in a straight line and also a great handling car. Impressively, it feels much lighter than it actually is. While the G37 is very capable of good gas mileage, it is incredibly difficult to fight the temptation to hammer the throttle. Hence, gas mileage can be an issue if you have a lead foot. In short, bravo Infiniti. You have created a great mix of performance and luxury for a reasonable cost.

  • Very Good Car - 2003 Infiniti I35

This car has great acceleration and performance. The Xenon lights are the best! Nissan/Infiniti is way better than Honda/Acura! Hondas have become too common now and Acura cars still look like Hondas. I love the build quality, since all the Infinitis are Made in Japan.

  • Great coupe - 2005 Infiniti G35

Im totally impressed with this car. It is quick, responsive and a shear pleasure to drive. Im a little disappointed with the available headroom, as I am with most imports. Other than that, no complaints.

Did a lot of homework before purchasing this car. The car for the quality, design, reliability and price has no competition.

  • Its awesome! Its fun, Its serious, Its G. - 2009 Infiniti G37

I admit, I am very picky when it comes to spending my money. All I am wondering is How can they make G37 so perfect!! Handling - precise. Power - Like you got a nuclear slab under your hood [Like Iron Man :P], Interiors - Better than competitors [Lexus had better]. Looks - I love it. Size - Bigger than competitors. G all the way!

  • Fills the gap between - 2003 Infiniti G35

The 6 Speed Sedan drives like an S- 2000 and still has room for passengers. The pure power of this motor coupled directly to the drive train is downright dangerous. My G35 Sedan 6 MT package came with the sport package: 17” wheels, lower profile tires and a slightly stiffer suspension. Control from behind the steering wheel is precise and predictable. The recent rains have provided several opportunities to test the tires and antilock brakes on the wet pavement. I’d swear the thing is on rails. The G35 I bought has the premium package. Well worth it if you can find it.

  • Positive First Impressions with the JX - 2013 Infiniti JX
    By -

I just picked up my new JX this week and my initial impressions are very favorable. My JX is the Emerald Graphite AWD with the premium package. This is my second Infiniti (2007 FX35). The fit and finish is impeccable. The emerald paint is a deep metallic rich, subtly changing hue in different lights. The java interior is beautiful, as well as very comfortable. There is plenty of interior room, including headroom. 3rd row seat is low, but roomy. The floor is level throughout, and plenty of visibility all around. The controls are well placed. This car is clearly designed for quiet and comfort. By design, it does not have the same performance & handling of other Infinitis. But, loads of tech!

  • Best SUV Ive owned - 2006 Infiniti QX56
    By -

I just for the QX56 two weeks ago and it is a joy to drive. After driving a QX4 and a Toyota 4Runner, both of which were fine, the QX56 is the car Ive waited for. The ride is smooth and firm for such a big vehicle. I love the power of the V8 and the fact that I can take just about anything (and anyone) wherever I need to go. With only one child and one dog, my husband thinks Im nuts to drive such a big SUV, but I love how safe I feel. This is the 4th Infiniti weve owned and we cant imagine buying any other brand of car.
