Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Awesome Car! - 2003 Infiniti G35

Bought my G35 a short while ago from a dealer and it had 60K miles on it. I have had no trouble with it. The CD player works perfectly, everything is in top shape although I have a few minor areas on the car where the paint is starting to crack, not sure how to fix it but other than that, no complaints. The interior is kind of bland but I bought a Walnut Burl dash kit from wood dash experts, has it installed by myself in 2 hours and it looks better than the wood dashes on the higher end BMWs and the such.

If you are 6ft+ like me, then you may find the seat base too small length wise. Also, I expected more when it comes to pickup speed, takes a while to get going. That said, its a joy to drive.

I thought this car would be like wearing sturdy shoes, good for me but no fun. I was wrong. After 7 years of driving, I still love this car. It is mannerly, strong, reliable, actually fun to drive, delivers power as needed, and the styling actually looks good to me now. I guess true friends always look attractive.

  • bang for the buck! - 2003 Infiniti G35

i picked up my g35 less than 2 weeks ago and have loved it ever since. well, ive loved it since i started researching about the car. to tell you the truth, the moment i sat in the leather seat for my test drive, i was sold. i literally bought the car the first day that the local dealer received its one and only ivory pearl for the month. this car performs like a sports car, but still offers luxury.

  • A Joyous Ride - 2004 Infiniti G35

Ive had my G35 for exactly a year now. It has been an absolute blast to drive (straight line it might not be the fastest, but cornering and grip with some summer tires on it and its second to none). Unfortunately, Ive put almost 20000 miles on it and the way gas is going that part has not been fun. If Premium ever hits 4.00 in NJ i think ill be forced to trade it in seeing as that Im only getting about 20- 21 MPG lately. But if you want a great ride and to push your car to the limits, this is the car you want

  • New Car Bliss or Grief - 2002 Infiniti I35

I love the features of the car. I have had a few problems with the bridgestone tires and the alignment being out. These problems showed up as pulling and excessive chatter in the front end while driving.

  • Best car Ive had - 2001 Infiniti I30

Ive put 70K miles on this car and aside from other people denting and running (mostly in parking lots) this car has been wonderful. Never a problem Ive owned 5 other makes and this has been the least amount of trouble. Waiting for them to do a hybrid...

  • All Aboard the Infiniti Rocketship! - 2007 Infiniti G35
    By -

Was back and forth between Acura TL-S and Infiniti G35 and am so glad I went Infiniti. So much power, love the rear wheel drive, features galore and probably got a better deal than I would have on an Acura. Navigation is great, real time XM traffic will change the way you drive and the built in hard drive is a killer feature. The new styling and revamped interior really make the G35 standout among the competition. Its also nice to pull up next to Audi A4 owners and blow them off the line! Such a fun car, I still cant wait to get in and take off every day.
