Overview & Reviews
Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.
The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.
As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.
Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.
Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

great car - 2002 Infiniti I35
By dadof7 - October 11 - 9:13 pmI have had the car just over 3 years. No problems whatsoever. Still fun to drive and I can zoom past most everyone when I need to (or want to). Comfortable, loaded with options, a fantastic car at a great price.

I got a lemon - 2005 Infiniti G35
By Sam - October 10 - 6:20 pmIve only had this vehicle for 7 months and it has been in the shop over 20 days and counting. The oil consumption on this engine is comparable to that of a 2-stroke engine - one part oil to 20 of gas. The vehicle has gone through several oil consumption test, the valve covers have been replaced twice, the exhaust pipes are covered in black desposit and inifiniti wont acknowledge it as a lemon. This is not the kind of treatment that one would expect from a "luxury" dealership. Do your homework and research this car very carefully, if you do a quick web search you will find out Im not this only one with this kind of problem.

lemon car - 2003 Infiniti G35
By jennifer h - October 10 - 12:16 amwhen i bought my car it had 27,000 miles on it. it has been in the shop over 30 times in 9 months. it has had numerous electrical problems, paint peeling off the bumpers ( and they wont do anything to help you), transmission problems, window constatly creaking ( in shop 5 times for this alone), and of course the big one the breaks. i have been told by infiniti itself that you have to replace the breaks and the rotors every 9,000 miles and it cost 500-600 dollars just for the front braking system. the brakes stop fast but it makes a noise that kills your ears and also is head turning because it is so loud. i wish that i kept my ford mustang cobra.....

Get this car! - 2008 Infiniti G37
By bthomas - October 9 - 5:20 amI traded in my 2007 BMW 328i (because it was constantly in the shop) for the new 2008 G37. Got the sport, premium and navigation package. This car rocks! So much better than the BMW. Handling is great, navigation package is awesome and very easy to use. Theres even a 9 GB hard drive in the car so you can rip your CDs to it. The system also controls your iPod with ease. The 330 HP engine is very powerful. Gas mileage is so-so, but thats expected with all the power you get. I definitely recommend this car! Go and test drive one!

Love it and for the money.... - 2008 Infiniti M45
By sunpower - October 8 - 2:33 pmI leased mine with a two year contract. At the end of the lease, I am very happy with the car. It has good acceleration, its comfortable and its stylish but not over the top. It doesnt attract too much attention but when I sit inside I feel pampered. Good features are ride and technology. Bad features are gas mileage and noise level.

G37 S - Not your daddys sports car - 2008 Infiniti G37
By Randy - October 8 - 7:56 amThe G37S is the epitome of luxury sports cars. VQ engine is Nissans BEST and it shows. Power is great, tuning is great, 330 Hp and 270 ft-lb of torque is what keeps you behind the wheel. Looks great and turns heads. 20 MPG city is reasonable (its not a hybrid) and reflects actual mileage. Definitely a winner over 350Z, 330i, Audi, and altima coupe. This may be your last chance to own a high-powered sports car with a REAL manual transmission as CVT and slushboxes are getting more acceptance with their "fake" shift controls.

BMW 330 Killer - 2004 Infiniti G35
By Mike - October 7 - 10:00 amI have always longed for a MBW 3-series but when I test drove a BMW330i sedan in 2004 I balked at the price and walked away wanting a little more torque and horsepower. I am very impressed with the higher torque and horsepower of the g35s sweet V6 and the smoothness of its five-speed automatic transmission. The G35s handling and braking characteristics are at least as good as the 330i sedan and both the interior and the exterior are more attractive. Even after test drving the newly redesigned 2005 BMW sedan I still have no regrets.
